I'm currently running SL5.4 using open-iscsi to connect to an iet target. I'm using a bnx2i card, with iscsi offload enabled.
This was working previously, but after a recent kernel update (2.6.18-194.32.1) I now get a panic when the connection is established. My open-iscsi rpm (from Centos) is iscsi-initiator-utils-6.2.0.871-0.16.el5.x86_64 Kernel Panic: iscsi: registered transport (cxgb3i) ip_tables: (C) 2000-2006 Netfilter Core Team iscsi: registered transport (bnx2i) Netfilter messages via NETLINK v0.30. ip_conntrack version 2.4 (8192 buckets, 65536 max) - 304 bytes per conntrack Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at 000000000000008c RIP: [<ffffffff8857f603>] :bnx2i:bnx2i_host_get_param+0x43/0xe3 PGD 214c31067 PUD 217d9b067 PMD 0 Oops: 0000 [1] SMP last sysfs file: /class/iscsi_host/host5/hwaddress CPU 9 Modules linked in: ipt_MASQUERADE iptable_nat ip_nat xt_state ip_conntrack nfned Pid: 11198, comm: iscsiadm Tainted: G 2.6.18-194.32.1.el5 #1 RIP: 0010:[<ffffffff8857f603>] [<ffffffff8857f603>] :bnx2i:bnx2i_host_get_para3 RSP: 0018:ffff8102180f1e78 EFLAGS: 00010202 RAX: 0000000000000000 RBX: ffff81021b9db178 RCX: 000000000000003a RDX: ffff81021a61d000 RSI: ffffffff88581a78 RDI: ffff81021a61d000 RBP: ffff81021a61d000 R08: ffff81022fdad38e R09: 0000000000110079 R10: 0000000000000000 R11: ffffffff8846c835 R12: 0000000000000001 R13: 000000000000008c R14: ffff81021a61d000 R15: ffff81022fb95658 FS: 00002aee88dd9270(0000) GS:ffff81022fdad440(0000) knlGS:0000000000000000 CS: 0010 DS: 0000 ES: 0000 CR0: 0000000080050033 CR2: 000000000000008c CR3: 000000021b784000 CR4: 00000000000026e0 Process iscsiadm (pid: 11198, threadinfo ffff8102180f0000, task ffff81021af1d0c) Stack: ffff81021b9db178 ffff81021a61d000 ffff81022e9406e0 ffff8102180f1f50 ffffffff8033bcb0 ffffffff8846c880 ffff81022fb95658 ffff81021c21d660 ffff81022e9406c0 ffffffff8010d742 0000000000000100 00007fff4acd3f90 Call Trace: [<ffffffff8846c880>] :scsi_transport_iscsi2:show_host_param_ISCSI_HOST_PARAM_H2 [<ffffffff8010d742>] sysfs_read_file+0xa5/0x13f [<ffffffff8000b729>] vfs_read+0xcb/0x171 [<ffffffff80011c15>] sys_read+0x45/0x6e [<ffffffff8005d116>] system_call+0x7e/0x83 Code: 41 0f b6 55 00 4c 89 ed e8 9a 7f ac f7 48 98 49 8d 1c 06 eb RIP [<ffffffff8857f603>] :bnx2i:bnx2i_host_get_param+0x43/0xe3 RSP <ffff8102180f1e78> CR2: 000000000000008c <0>Kernel panic - not syncing: Fatal exception modinfo bnx2i: filename: /lib/modules/2.6.18-194.32.1.el5/kernel/drivers/scsi/bnx2i/bnx2i.ko version: 2.1.0 license: GPL description: Broadcom NetXtreme II BCM5706/5708/5709 iSCSI Driver author: Anil Veerabhadrappa <[email protected]> srcversion: D70614FC45895A4F2F7639D depends: scsi_transport_iscsi2,libiscsi2,scsi_mod,cnic vermagic: 2.6.18-194.32.1.el5 SMP mod_unload gcc-4.1 parm: event_coal_min:Event Coalescing Minimum Commands (int) parm: event_coal_div:Event Coalescing Divide Factor (int) parm: en_tcp_dack:Enable TCP Delayed ACK (int) parm: error_mask1:Config FW iSCSI Error Mask #1 (int) parm: error_mask2:Config FW iSCSI Error Mask #2 (int) parm: sq_size:Configure SQ size (int) parm: rq_size:Configure RQ size (int) module_sig: 883f3504d2361c35171fc1749281e112bd740a0d7f19bc0fdaba19cef0ecd82e6847fccdbeb72309e36ecc46f628acbe182d3f6b191611b761cf05dea Please let me know if there is any more useful information I can provide relating to this issue.
