Hi list,

Googlegroups just does not work well. To handle the spam problem I made
it so posting the list required that I manually ok a new users message.
This has resulted in people getting banned accidentally and mails
getting delayed by a couple days sometimes.

I would like to see if anyone would have objections to moving the
mailing list to http://vger.kernel.org/. It is where the linux-kernel,
netdev, scsi (almost all kernel lists) are handled.

The spam filters seem pretty good there, and it would not require me to
ok new users which should speed up new emails coming in and prevent
users from getting banned accidentally.

The only drawback may be that everyone has to subscribe to a new list,
because I am not sure if there is a easy way to import everyone to the
new list.

What is done lots of the time is that you subscribe the
[email protected] to the new linux-kernel list and anything
gets also sent to the old list. You need to tweak the replay-to header
on googlegroups or cross subscribe both lists. Let the googlegroups.com
mail add a footer which states that users should subscribe to the
new list. After a while the googlegroups will be left with out any
users and you can close it.

Cheers
Boaz
