Hi Mike and everybody,

The Red Hat packaging of open-iscsi (iscsi-initiator-utils) has
contained C and Python libraries for open-iscsi since 2009. These have
been used only by the Anaconda installer, and haven't been pushed upstream.

I'm in favor of doing so now -- many other modules that currently use
the cmdline to configure the iscsi initiator could benefit from library
bindings. Possible users include OpenStack, libvirt, Puppet, and oVirt,
not to mention Anaconda or other installers.

Hans de Goede has confirmed he is the sole author of the current code.
We also plan to further develop the code.

I've pulled out libiscsi from the RH rpm and stuck it here:

git://github.com/agrover/open-iscsi.git on the libiscsi-wip branch.

Hans recommended a rename to not conflict with existing libiscsi
projects. How about libiscsiadm?

Other comments? :)

Thanks -- Regards -- Andy
