Hello there,

I've been trying to use iscsi to implement some personal projects, but I'm
experiencing some very bad write speed performances.

At the target, I'm exposing a partition of an SSD disk, which locally,
using fio, I got around 11MB/s write speed. At the initiator, I connect to
the target, to the exposed partition, and when I execute the same fio job,
the best I can get for iscsi write speed is an average of 1.2MB/s, which is
very low.

I'm not expecting to get the same speed as local, but I wasn't expecting to
get so very low performance at write. For reads, I've got very good
results, reaching the top of the network speed (11/12 MB/s. It's a 100Mbit
network).

I've tried, as target, using targetcli and scsi-targets-utils (tgt
project). For the initiator, I'm using open-iscsi.

I've tried teaking some configurations on the initiator, since enabling
jumbo frames, increasing the number of commands the iscsi session queue,
changing the linux I/O scheduler, changing the device block size, but
without sucess. I've got the same results if I enable or disable the iscsi
cache at the target.

Any help with this problem will be very welcome :)

Thanks
