Running "svn switch https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/openjpa/trunk";
worked for me.

That may not work exactly. You probably need to do it for each
subdir,
eg
cd trunk; svn switch https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/openjpa/trunk
cd ../branches; svn switch ...
...
