Short Description:
Senior Engineer will be responsible for a team that manages the day to day
care and feeding of the infrastructure servers. Monitoring, patch management
and break/fix functions of the 800+ servers that the Server Operations
program manages.
Complete Description:
The Senior Engineer will be part of a team responsible for maintaining 800+
servers across multiple domains, encompassing both Windows 2003 and 2000
operating systems. Duties will include data back-up and restore, user
account maintenance to include add, change, delete. System design and
consultation, patch management, system monitoring, and virus detection and
eradication. Perform LAN/Server assessments and provide recommendations for
upgrades and replacement. Plan, design, and implement Windows NT/Windows
2000 Server migrations across the two District data centers. Manage
co-location server farm, rack configuration, and power requirements for the
Districts 2 enterprise data centers.
