Provides in-depth technical needs analysis, advice, and technical support regarding database configuration and utilization issues. Responsible for designing database query specifications, database implementation, performance tuning administration and security. Some have data modeling and data mining skills. Typically engage in post-sale delivery activities, but may participate in pre-sale activities directly with customers. Works with relationship database technology in an application development environment (Teradata, DB2, ORACLE, Informix) and data sourcing tools (Visual Basic, PowerBuilder). A senior level position that typically leads engagement planning and execution of client consulting projects and helps secure new engagements. Requires technical degree in computer science with a database concentration or related discipline, and 8 to 10 years related experience.; * * *Additional Job Description:* This position is for a Senior Teradata consultant who can accommodate the Physical Data Modeling for a new Teradata customer. In addition, the consultant will need to A.) Architect, Design, and Implement a Streaming Feed using tpump / minibatch B.) Understand proper approach for converting Logical to Physical Model and apply tuning to optimize performance of both loads and queries C.) Willing to be fast learner on NOPI tables and V13 features D.) Able to integrate and provide technical leadership to cross functional team that includes Ab Initio ETL developers, OLAP BI developers, and Offshore testers.
