They need to understand connections, interfaces to SAP; Look at overall security, possible re-desing efforts and best practices. In this role, the Security Engineer will be responsible for contributing to the design & maintenance of the SAP system from a security standpoint and responsible for the installation, upgrade and support of all components of the SAP Infrastructure and ensure the SAP system operates reliably and efficiently in a secure environment. This will include assisting with the configuration and maintenance of High Availability and Disaster Recover of SAP & 3rd party components. In addition, the Security Engineer - SAP Systems role will be primary support for the IT functional team that supports ERP services. The role is responsible for contributing to the delivery of services, procedures and processes that are considered value added, measurable and directly tied to the stability & security of the ERP system landscape. *Some responsibilities:* - Developing Standards and Processes around the operational management of the SAP environment from a security standpoint. - Ensuring the right SAP technology & infrastructure strategy exists for business enablement from a security standpoint. This person will fill a technical gap between Data, Systems, Network and functional folks. They need to understand how SAP interacts with Active Directory, how to handle file sharing, etc. Understand the underlying systems and how they interact with 3rd party systems; understand the optimum path to connect and pass data back and forth. For 3rd party systems - what files shares need to be set up ; know how to set up secure file transfers and test it. Some of the 3rd party systems they use include: PowerPlant, Brainware, TM1, Halogen. They will be involved in the coordination of activities - liaison between teams. *Additional Information: * • Monitor & maintain the SAP & 3rd party landscapes. Contribute to continuous improvement of processes, technologies and architecture. • Liaise with functional SAP experts and infrastructure teams in order to assist with the ongoing support of SAP &3rd party components. • Demonstrate excellent tactical approaches that reflect the strategic perspective. • Achieve team goals and objectives and report accomplishments and plans on a regular basis. • Collaborate & mentor team members to continuously improve technical capabilities. • Perform other related duties as assigned or required. • Focus areas include technical guidance, problem resolution, system performance, adherence to best practice & governance and other related duties. • Complete quality documentation for the SAP & 3rd party environments. • Apply standard SAP security principles, concepts and techniques in system installation, system administration, user administration, managing system access, monitoring performance and problem diagnosis and resolution. • Administer all aspects of the SAP system landscape (i.e., sandbox, development, quality and production), including 3rd party systems and aid in optimizing implementation of system related changes. • When needed and able - help Install, configure, update, patch, migrate SAP & 3rd party systems, troubleshoot any technical problem related to those systems and support all the daily operations of the system landscapes. • Where able, help provide expertise in SAP Technical Architecture – SAP BASIS, SAP Landscape Design and Management, Sizing, Performance Tuning, Archiving, SAP Cloud and HANA • Where able, help provide expertise in Solution Manager capabilities and support the SAP functional team in implementation of additional Solution Manager components • From a security standpoint and when applicable, play an active engineering role support global apps including Active Directory and services, Windows Servers and services (i.e. DNS, print and file shares, etc.). • From an SAP Security standpoint, help provide the following: Support virtualization (VMware),MS-SQL Server, batch scripting, FTP, SFTP solutions. • Provide third party and in-house applications support and administration of application servers • Analyze and report on issues and problems, make recommendations for improvements. • Understand the existing and emerging technologies in SAP and non-SAP space in the areas of Web Development, Cloud, In-memory Databases, Integration, Infrastructure and Security • As a member of the overall SAP team, stay up to date with the latest emerging technologies in the SAP space (i.e., SAP Fiori, SAP HANA and SAP NW Gateway) • Contribute to the development of standards relating to Technical and Application Architecture direction and usage of SAP • Work jointly with enterprise architecture, IT security and other information systems groups to successfully implement new technology solutions. • Partner with the ERP functional team to develop strategies, objectives and roadmaps for solutions that are in alignment with functional goals. • Partner with ERP functional team and the infrastructure teams to define technical requirements and translate needs into tactical plans. • Contribute to the development of processes, tools, support materials, and training to ensure system stability & security. • Collaborate in the development of process improvements and innovative tools with the goal of increasing overall efficiency, effectiveness and stability. • Participate in system testing prior to implementations, upgrades, and enhancements to ensure a stable and well-functioning application in partnership with the SAP ERP functional team. • Provide support to the ERP functional team, answering questions about the applications, following up on any reported issues and ensuring timely and reliable response. • Respond to internal and external audit requests as needed. • Maintain knowledge of current industry thinking and trends, and regularly communicate in this area as necessary. • Support the continued development of IT methodologies, tools and best practices within the SAP ERP landscape. *Thanks & Regards,* *Adam Brad* ERP/EAI SERVICES |Consulting – Development – Staffing Tel Direct: 919-386-2044 | Fax 347-296-3797 Email: *[email protected]* <[email protected]> | *www.clearthoughtsolutions.com* <http://www.clearthoughtsolutions.com/> IM: [email protected] <[email protected]> *Partners in your Thought…* *Gateway to Succes* We respect your Online Privacy.
