The client is a major healthcare company in the Triangle area of North Carolina who is looking for Data Modelers with healthcare and extensive modeling experience to become part of their Data Warehousing team. They are currently transitioning from a Corporate Data Warehouse to an Enterprise Data Warehouse and these Modelers will play an integral role in the transition.
*Responsibilities:* - Reviews business and analytic requirements - Interprets business requirements into logical data requirements - Interacts with the business regarding data issues, data relationships, and data sources - Communicates with mid-level business managers to confirm logical model based on data requirements - Interprets business speak into technical speak - Develops conceptual, logical and first cut physical models - Works with the data base analyst to complete a fully attributed physical model - Models source data - Analyzes data through screens, reports, and source extracts - Generates source, physical and presentation layer DDLs - Performs mapping between source and third normal form layer (physical data integration layer) - Performs logical to physical mapping - Creates and updates the data dictionary - Validates data dictionary content - Captures business rules for logical to physical mapping in metadata - Performs mapping from third normal form to dimensional (presentation layer) - Documents specifications for views - Creates SQL for views - Promotes logical data models to production - Promotes data dictionary to production - Participates in project specific architectural working groups - Provides input to existing Data Integration Modeling standards and guidelines - Reviews standards with Enterprise Architects (EA) and Solutions Architects - Ensures that the logical enterprise information model (EIM) is updated with entity and attribute definitions - Provides knowledge transfer to other data integration modelers and architects on staff (internal or external) - Leads the timely resolution of data architectural issues and problems - Signs-off on Data Integration Model peer reviewed documents - Provides Data Integration Modeling estimates and refines as necessary throughout the system development life cycle - Collaborates with Lead Information Architect and Metadata Architect in developing the overall data management/metadata/repository solution/process - Accountable for Modeler related deliverables - Collaborates with other technical areas within ISDS and throughout IS as needed - Supports EDW/CDWs 24x7 operation by being on-call as needed for model related questions and issues - Participates in project risk assessments and issue management meetings *Required Skills:* - Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of recent experience as Data Modeler with training in data modeling principles (including Normalization, Dimensional and UML modeling) and business process relationships or someone with no degree and a minimum of 7 years of recent data modeling experience with at least 5 of those years with experience and training in data modeling principles and business process relationships. - 2 years experience with Healthcare data - 3 years experience creating logical models in a data warehouse environment - Teradata, UDB, and Oracle experience preferred. - Strong working knowledge of ERWin or similar data modeling tool required - Strong working knowledge of ER/Objects/Dimensional modeling concepts required * * *** * -- Regards, krish mylangam, kri...@gdninfo.net.--
