Role: Unix/Linux System Engineer
Location: Chandler, AZ Local to Chandler, AZ ONLY
Duration: 12 Months
Rate: 37 /hr
Position Description: Experience Level: 4 year degree and 5+ years
experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Candidate will provide Production/Platform support for EDGE application and
Sales Call Center. Candidate will need strong documentation, coordination,
and project management skills. Must be able to work independently & have
the ability to switch seamlessly between projects/initiatives.
Must be able to troubleshoot & identify technical solutions for
implementation and ongoing production support of application. Duties may
include: using multiple online systems to review, prioritize, and distribute
incoming trouble tickets and notifications. Notifying team and contacting
appropriate resources as needed of issue or adjustments which may be needed
to meet deadlines and goals. Develops new documentation, participates in the
development of department technical procedures.
24/7 availability may be required.
Duties are varied and may include one or more of the following:
Develop and support web service programs (client and provider
programs) using J2EE tools, and possibly .net tools
Develop SQL (DDL, stored procedures, etc).
Develop programs for data imports using Java, SQL Loader, etc
Develop file processing programs
Create scheduled batch jobs and appropriate scripts (with alerting)
Support complex technical issues and initiatives related to
large-scale applications, systems & databases
Create and utilize diagnostic simulation to analyze performance trends
and/or troubleshoot, restore service or data to systems
Identify gaps in current technology process and recommend changes to
assure SLAs can be supported
Perform code migration from development to production environment,
includes upgrades, installations and/or system configuration
Create new and update existing documentation and procedures and
provide related training
Troubleshoot network, hardware and software issues. Coordinate
resolution with users, vendors and internal service groups
Assess changes for potential risk to production systems and assures
quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported areas
Assists in updating, creating and testing the business continuity plan
May coordinate project resources and provide guidance to less
experienced analysts
Required skills:
Unix and/or Linux, SQL Scripting, AIX/HP/Sun/Solaris Would like to see:
ANT scripting knowledge, MySQL, Windows Server, MQ, Websphere
