Position: Network Engineer Location: San Jose, CA Duration 6 + month Interview: Phone then f2f Hi Andy, Looking for a Network Engineer with Avaya, Router, Switching, and Skype or WebEX experience. The Communication and Collaboration Engineer position for our client requires a highly motivated individual with the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment. The role will help our client transition to, and eventually administer, a software based collaboration environment such as Skype for Business. This role will also be responsible for the administration and support of our client’s legacy Avaya, Polycom and WebEx infrastructure. Previous experience with global deployments of Lync, Skype or a competing software based collaboration environment is required. This role must be adept at managing multiple external vendors and have a proven track record of successfully delivering highly visible projects. This position and team also works regularly with internal peer groups, including executive level field representatives. Essential Duties And Responsibilities · Supervise existing vendors and subcontractors · Coordinate large scale telecommunications projects · Work with the Infrastructure and EA teams team to help design a strategy for Voice and Video communications · Work with vendors to coordinate installation, contracts and systems configuration · Support for daily interaction with vendors in regards to invoicing issues, dispute resolution, recommendations, etc. · Developing recommendations for the optimization of existing services · Manage video and voice collaboration infrastructure and supporting policies and procedures Knowledge, Skills And Abilities · Strong understating of the requirements for a global deployment of Lync or Skype as the primary communications platform for voice, video and group audio conferencing · Experience in managing Avaya Aura, Polycom and related communication technologies. · Must have knowledge of carrier services and interfaces and the ability to analyze and perform or coordinate maintenance · Knowledge of data communication protocols (TCP/IP) and familiarity with hardware components (Routers, Switches) · Experience with WebEx and related web collaborations platforms · Excellent written and oral communication skills · Highly self-motivated and directed · Strong attention to detail · Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities. · Very strong customer service orientation. · Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. · *Education and Experience* A bachelor's degree in computer science or telecommunications, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired, is required.
