Role: SQL DBA Duration: Above 11 months Location: East Elmhurst, NY 11370 Only Local Candidates with GC/EAD-GC/USC SCOPE OF SERVICES: In the capacity of C Programmer, the selected contractor will provide proper and sufficient skills to ensure expert and timely database administration. Manage the database for various applications including the in-house developed Inmate Phone, Inmate Property, and Inmate Financial and Commissary applications. • Design, re-design, and implementation of database enhancements. • Perform database monitoring and performance tuning. • Analyze and make appropriate modifications related to database storage areas, indexes, record placements, transaction paths, record access strategies, database internal record fragmentations, database external file fragmentations, physical database area internal usage and free space, fill factors, storage segment and page statistical distributions checks. • Develop new documentation; review and update existing documentation.Develop and maintain inmate phone, financial, commissary sales, and property inventory applications for the New York Department of Correction using C++, C, DECforms, ACMS, and Oracle Rdb. ? Migrate all applications to newer hardware platforms and web access. ? Other related tasks as required. MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: ? Mandatory Skills: Must have experience designing, developing and maintaining web enabled databases, client/server, telephony, transaction processing applications, user interfaces, monitoring tools, software development environments, ability to teach others about the work being performed by consultant, an ability to support the above mentioned items. Technical skills need to include the following: ? Languages and tools: C++, C, Visual Basic, ACMS, Oracle, Oracle Rdb, SQL, Basic, Fortran, DECforms, Visual Studio ? Operating Systems: MS Windows, Open VMS ? C programming and knowledge of Oracle RDB ? Application Control Management system (ACMS) ? In-depth, hands-on, related experience as an RDB DBA ? Hands-on experience on OpenVMS / Alpha platforms ? Hands-on knowledge and experience with DECTP products, which also includes ACMS ? (Application Control Management System), the TP monitor. ? Extensive experience with SQL/SQLMOD ? More than 12 years’ experience in all areas listed above. ? Extensive knowledge/work experience of DB2/Linux ? Senior level experience with OpenVMS clusters ? Extensive experience with DCL ? OpenVMS capacity planning, performance management and system utility tools ? Extensive experience with OpenVMS capacity planning, performance management and system utility tools.
