Job Description:

The IT Infrastructure Architect supports FEPOC’s CCTI business portfolio by
providing reliable IT infrastructure support to ensure sustainability and
efficiency. This role is responsible for accurately and efficiently
architecting and implementing CCTI related products for a cross-business
unit multi-product integrated data warehouse solution within the FEPOC
environment.



*In this role, the candidate:*

   - Partners with cross-functional teams (network, security etc.) to
   design infrastructure architecture, manage the infrastructure lifecycle,
   and ensure high availability and disaster recovery capability of critical
   systems
   - Performs in an architecture role for IBM tools and technology given
   that CCTI data warehouse environment is an IBM-based solution (i.e. IBM
   Pure Application System) – this includes pro-actively identifying and
   planning for CCTI HW/SW and environment refresh cycles.  Therefore, the
   CCTI Architect will perform in the role of “expert” on the IBM-based
   systems and solutions, and will be on point to support the projects team
   questions on all technical matters, including working with other technical
   leads and SMEs for other technology tools and platforms (i.e. AB Initio,
   Cognos, WebSphere, DB2, etc)
   - Supports collaboration with IBM for overall vendor relationship, and
   participates as needed in issue resolution with IBM’s escalation support
   path (i.e. PMRs)
   - Create and maintain CCTI architecture diagrams
   - Recommend and lead technology and environment refresh activities
   - Explores business and functional requirements and makes
   recommendations to both internal IT team and to business owners for approval
   - Recommends alternatives for IT infrastructure architecture to support
   short- and long term planning (including capacity assessments for storage,
   network, usage patterns, HW/SW licenses, etc) and to ensure business
   sustainability.
   - Elaborates functional requirements into technical specifications in
   order to ensure effective development processes with internal and external
   partners, and to support project and infrastructure-related implementations
   - Leads the execution of IT deployment plan in order to ensure
   deployment efforts are aligned with the agreed solution
   - Evaluates overall IT infrastructure strategy in order to ensure
   optimal system performance, availability, and maintainability.
   - Lead and participate in special “Tiger Team” projects to address
   performance or operational issues, as required
   - With support from internal IT technology teams, recommend and
   implement appropriate firewall, routing, and network security configurations
   - Assess and provide recommendations for optimizing use of existing
   tools, and/or to identify recommended procurements to supplement the
   existing CCTI environment
   - Identifies areas for improvement within existing CCTI environment, and
   helps to develop improvement opportunities to be reviewed and discussed
   with the business owners
   - Support issue management activities, including evaluation, Root Cause
   Analysis (RCA), and issue resolution with recommendations on process and/or
   architectural changes as part of the solution.
   - Investigate and evaluate hot fixes and maintenance patches for
   proactive implementation



*Qualifications:*


In order to be successful in this role, we expect that qualified candidates
will bring the following skills, experience, and attributes to the job:


   - More than eight years of experience in IT with IBM tools and
   technologies.
   - Knowledge and experience working within architecture frameworks (e.g.,
   IBM data warehouse, IBM Pure Application, Cognos, Ab Initio)
   - Experience working within Service Integration and Management
   (SIAM)Experience with software architecture, solution architecture,
   software project management, SDLC, Java, SOA, UNIX, Linux
   - Experience working with DB2, Cognos, ETL tools (Ab Initio preferred),
   IBM Pure Application, Control-M, and Axway transfer protocol)
   - Working knowledge of IT architecture and IT governance
   - Experience with enterprise-wide platforms such as IBM, Dell, Cisco,
   etc.
   - Excellent communication, facilitation, collaboration, negotiation, and
   presentation skills
   - Ability to support day-to-day operational activities as needed
