they support and they are adding to that list. They have several
implementations with deadlines of next summer and some with deadlines for
the end of the year that they would like this person to impact. 2)
Experience testing - they manually test their applications because they are
all relatively small applications an automated system is not practical for
them. Their applications are also very specialized for their customers.
They would like for this person to be able to test their applications prior
to implementing them. 3)Experience doing interfaces - these applications
may interface with other existing applications and it would be great if
someone could impact this as well. + ability to work in a strictly
regulated environment *
*Job Description:*
Our client is looking for a developer with a strong foundation in Microsoft
technologies. They will specifically be working with C#, .NET, Visual
Studios and SQL. (they do have some oracle but are primarily a Microsoft
shop. Mostly windows applications because of the controlled environment.)
This role will spend a majority of their time in the middle to back end of
these applications. This is not to say there will not be any front end
work, but that will not be their focus. They may be asked to make small
changes to the front end based on how the vendor packages the software.
They are developing their new applications in C#. They will be working on
windows based applications, coding, doing configuration changes and
interfacing with in house applications. This role will be providing
maintenance support, doing implementations, testing and coding. They should
be willing to do some light reporting. They use crystal reports but it is
not necessary to have this exact reporting experience.
Right now a majority of the work is the implement new applications. They
will have to work with the given business unit for this. Those groups all
support engineers for the nuclear facility. Examples are chemistry,
security etc. This team sits in the NOB so they are very close not only
relationship but proximity to their customer at VCS.
They have very tight deadlines they need to hit for the two new plants.
Most of those deadlines are EOY and Q1 but they will keep this person on at
least until June 30th of 2017. This role could be extended but budget will
not be known for an extension until next summer. They would like for this
person to be able to help during their outage early next year. They will
have to pull their FTEs to support the work during their outage and will
need the contractor doing maintenance for the team.
*Additional Information:*
They are willing to train in crystal if someone has reporting experience in
another technology. Their database is SQL.
This is a strictly regulated environment. It may not be the ideal fit for
someone who is a hardcore coder or wanting to use the latest and greatest
technologies. They do not use anything open source.
Should be able to change gears quickly if needed. Ex: They are working on a
system upgrade/implementation but another active system goes down. They
will need to change gears and work on the existing system to get it back up
before returning to the upgrade or implementation.
*Work Environment:*
Very strictly regulated technology environment but great team environment.
They have to be onsite at VC Summers in Jenkinsville. They need to have
good communication skills and be sensitive to the timeline they are on.
There is an on-call rotation but they call do on-call support from home,
otherwise they are expected to be onsite at VC Summers each day. The on
call rotation is for a week based on the team size at the time. It could be
once a month or once every month and a half.
