May require a bachelor's degree in a related area and 2 - 4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. * * Job Description: Perform DB2/UDB Database administration as a member of a team of DBAs per the general responsibilies outlined below.* *• Planning, installation and configuration of DB2 database and related software.* *• Planning, installation and configuration of DB2 patch fixes and upgrades. * *• Perform database requirements analysis.* *• Configuration, creation and maintenance of DB2 databases and instances* *• Assistance with Schema Management.* *• Assistance with Security Management.* *• Implementation of Backup and Recovery Strategies.* *• Assistance with Data Loading.* *• Configuration of client-server software.* *• Monitoring and management of database server, memory , and space resources.* *• Performance tuning at server and application levels.* *• Troubleshoot production issues as they occur.* *• Tracking of tasks/time for internal client billing and reporting purposes.* *• On-call production support at least 2 weeks per month. * *Skill Sets:* *Required:* *DB2* *Oracle* *UNIX* *Desired:* *SQL* *SQL Server* *Required Qualifications* *Strong UNIX analyst skills* *Unix Korn shell scripting* *Specific knowledge of DB2 UDB - installs, upgrades, tuning, backup and recovery, and general support* *Experience with the creation and evaluation of logical and physical data models, and the subsequent physical implementation* *Knowledge of basic unix performance monitoring tools like glance, perfview, top, sar, etc * * * *
