Must process detailed knowledge of AIX operation system, and have ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. Worked in SAN-IBM ESS environment. Strong verbal and oral communication skills, excellent documentation skills; ability to share knowledge with the team. Client service focused attitude and the ability to work well with other groups required. Demonstrated ability to perform operation system failure analysis and ability to work with vendor if needed to obtain problem resolution. Ability to diagnose server network problems. * * *Typical Responsibilities*: the selected candidate will be responsible for the administration, installation, configuration, upgrade and support AIX operating systems and associated components. He/She will perform problem diagnostics and initiate problem resolution. In addition, this individual will perform AIX based server product evaluations such as new operating system releases and technologies to accommodate business requirements and serve consolidation efforts and co ordinate operating system and server activity with multiple groups. The selected candidate will provide consulting services to developers on design, performance and tuning, and create and maintain server documentation relating to server configurations and applications, perform on call support. *Preferences:* Demonstrated knowledge in server configuration for optional security and firewall technologies. Experience in supporting servers that run Oracle or UDB. Any performance and tuning experience is a plus. Experience in supporting backup products(e.g., Tivoli Storage Manager) is strong plus.
