*Role : QA Hadoop Tester * *Location : Charlotte, NC * *Duration : 12+ Months Interview Mode: Phone and Skype/WebEx (F2F if local)* *Competencies* · Client facing experience for onsite folks · Test management & defect management expertise · CI experience with Gherkin, Jenkins, Cucumber would be a good-to-have Individuals working in the (Sr.) Test Analyst / Test Designer / Tester role must be very hands-on to perform a full cycle of testing functions including test estimation, test case creation, test plan creation, test execution & defect management. This role would also be competent to create test assets to ensure that QA team provides the value in creating a great work product. This role requires an individual who will demonstrate urgency, leverage experience in unique ways in evaluating a work product for improvements & test such applications. As such, the role would demonstrate ownership over quality and strive to deliver, collaborate with stakeholders & partners to enhance the QA experience. *General Responsibilities:* · Responsible for functional testing cycles including maintenance & upkeep of regression suite(s) and automated test suite(s). Also responsible for day to day test execution, defect management, resolution (& re-tests) & status reporting, leveraging HP ALM & Version One to create overall value for the project / product being released. · This role, apart from the individual responsibilities below, will work in collaboration with other test analysts, project manager(s) / scrum master(s), release manager(s), product manager(s), development team member(s), infrastructure team member(s) as well as business analyst(s) and sponsor(s) & be responsible for superior quality of test cases through highest coverage, proficient execution, detailed status report & meticulous follow ups to drive appropriate defect resolution. o Evaluate testing effort o Plan test cycles o Identify target test items o Define appropriate tests required o Manage traceability o Define appropriate test data required o Gather & manage test data according to the need & aligning to Ally’s test data management policies o Execute test cases & perform required test cycles o Evaluate the test results & ensure all issues are accurately logged, tracked and resolved o Manage defects appropriately o Participate in defect triage discussions o Evaluate outcomes of test cycles o Build and maintain regression test suites for both manual and automated testing for all the applications supported o Participate in UAT support by reviewing business test cases, assisting with UAT test data preparation, defect triage & re-tests in UAT cycles o Execute smoke tests post release(s) / code drops o Assist in project stabilization (post production) phase by actively identifying baseline defects & retesting · *AAP (advanced analytics platform) functional testing:* · *Cloudera Hadoop Testing experience (or similar like Hortonworks etc)* · Ingestion / Consumption · SAS 9.3, SAS/Access for ODBC, SAS/Access for Hadoop · Cloudera EDH 5.x · Progress ODBC drivers for HIVE and Impala in Sun Solaris · HP QC expertise · Data Quality testing, Metadata (not just ETL)experience · Some knowledge of automation would help but not necessary · *Banking domain or general BFSI experience* · *2+ years of Agile experience – Scrum certification desired* · *7-10 years of applicable experience of a pure tester* [image: VSGBS001] <http://www.vsgbusinesssolutions.com/> *U**mang **G**oswami* *TECHNICAL RECRUITER* *VSG* *Business Solutions* *Email ID: **[email protected]* <[email protected]> *Gmail ID: **[email protected]* <[email protected]> -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Open Source Erp & Crm" group.
