*Job Title:        Customer Solutions Engineer (Telecom/VOIP TESTER)*

*Duration:        6 months *

*Location:        Holmdel, NJ*





The Customer Solutions Engineer is a highly motivated individual who is part
of a certification test team that develops platform testing methodologies,
contributes to SW and HW design for testability, performs white box system
testing, stress and soak testing, develops test tools/scripts and test
plans. The Customer Solutions Engineer must have extensive experience in
testing CPE devices and VoIP client software, and have excellent
communications and interpersonal skills.



*Essential Job Functions:*

   - Perform system level certification testing for CPE devices, VoIP client
   software and related technologies.

·         Work closely with technology teams during requirement definition
and development to ensure that requirements are testable and well
understood.

·         Create test architectures/environments, and develop of test cases
and/or scripts to ensure maximum test coverage of requirements.

·         Ensure that testing methodologies and processes are followed
meticulously. Contribute to enhancement of the test methodologies as needed.

·         Create and report defects during testing, and generate test
reports before production release.

   - Test and evaluate new products and technologies.
   - Test prototype/pre-production devices (CPE, SMB and Gateways)
   - Research and recommend test systems/equipment.
   - Automate test cases as needed.

*Specific Requirements (Technical Knowledge, Software, Etc.)*

   - Able to comprehend and communicate complex hardware and software
   functionality in a clear, precise, and easy to understand manner
   - Experience in the following technologies:

o        VoIP (SIP, RTP and RTCP, voice codecs) & Voice Telephony

o        Routing, Internet Protocols (including DHCP, DNS, FTP, TFTP,
TELNET, SSH, NTP, HTTP),

o        Security technologies (such as stateful firewall, IPsec, WLAN
security, certificates, TLS, SRTP etc.),

o        IP QoS (packet classification, packet scheduling algorithms, packet
shaping and Diffserv/TOS marking)

o        IEEE802.11A/B/G/N

   - Understanding of voice quality metrics, factors affecting voice quality
   metrics, and methodologies for improving voice quality and service
   reliability. Experience with audio and video streaming over packet networks,
   and quality and performance measurements for the same.
   - Knowledgeable in Unix shell scripts, Perl, Tcl/TK or similar scripting
   languages and ability to automate test suites.
   - Hands-on experience with test tools such as Wireshark, IXIA, Spirent,
   Packetstorm, Hammer/Abacus, Sage 960 and Agilent.
   - Good communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
   - Excellent problem solving skills.
   - 3+ years of experience in system level testing.
   - Experience with MPEG2/MPEG4/H.264
   - Experience in testing mobile applications on iPhone, Android phones and
   Blackberry.
   - Experience in the area of developing or integrating telecommunications
   test equipment is a plus.

BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
