*Note: this position is not for Oracle Application DBA. * *Job Description* * * *This is an internet/web application – any experience working on fast paced project in this space is a true plus.* This posting is for a senior position with 8-9+ years of Application DBA experience. The DBA should be able to quickly grasp the business logic and business processes and have excellent problem solving skills. The DBA should have excellent communication and documentation skills. The person will be interacting with DBA team lead and Team manager to provide updates and status *Daily Tasks: * · Support a critical and accelerated project in the DBA space. · Create *schemas or initiate database object changes in consultation with application project teams necessary to implement database design*. · Participate in database design / PL/SQL code reviews for projects and enhancements. · Resolve *SQL performance and data issues *as necessary. · Prepare development databases for project implementation. · Follow existing processes and procedures. · Duties also include *SQL Tuning, troubleshooting, resolving errors and failures, documentation, knowledge sharing* · Develop and modify existing *Unix shell scripts (Korn shell)* · Migrate database objects across life cycle environments and be able to efficiently & effectively compare environments due to prior job experiences *Qualifications:* 1. Experience with *Oracle 11g databases and feature set.* 2. Knowledge and Experience in *Logical and Physical Data Modeling*. Develop the Logical and Physical Data Models by working with the application and business teams. 3. Strong Knowledge of* Oracle Architecture and database design* 4. Oracle Design tools such as *ER Studio* (real plus also the key for the requirement) 5. Strong Database Performance Tuning Skills. 6. Strong Database Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution skills. 7. Understanding of object oriented design 8. *Experience with Oracle Replication , Dataguard setup* 9. Good knowledge of *Unix Shell Scripting. * 10. Must Possess Strong SQL and PL/SQL Development skills. 11. Excellent analytical and communication skills. *Other Preferred Skills:* 1. Scheduling tool such as Tidal 2. Understanding of data marts and warehousing concepts. 3. Experience with Business objects reporting 4. Experience with* Informatica* 5. Understanding of object oriented concepts and newer tools such as Hibernate 6.
