Candidates will be working initially on-site in San Diego.

After the initial period (2 to 3 weeks approx.) in San Diego, the candidates
will work either in the LA or SF offices.





Seeking a Technical Architect & Developer to work as consultants in our Web
Development practice. The Technical Architect designs architecture, codes
applications, provides technical leadership to small and medium sized
software development teams, and communicates technology design decisions and
their rationale to clients and client organizations. We are currently
looking for a seasoned Technical architect specializing in the Ruby on Rails
platform to help deliver large, multi-lingual web sites and applications for
some of the most recognized brands in the consumer space.



Responsibilities:

·      Develop, document and implement software architectures.

·      Technically lead and mentor software development teams.

·      Explain application architecture decisions and their rationales to
client management and technical teams.

·      Proven ability to lead small to medium sized development teams.

·      Acts as a Development Manager and Mentor for assigned technology
staff.

·      Manages technical implementation tasks, time and resources

·      Ability to accurately estimate implementation effort required based
on available information.



Qualifications:

·      7-10+ years of project experience performing software development,
including at least 2-3 years of project experience architecting applications
on the Ruby on Rails platform.

·      Leadership: Excellent team building and leadership skills. Excellent
communication skills. Highly self-directed. Able to multitask given
incomplete and conflicting knowledge.

·      Experience with Agile development methodology is a must

·      Expert knowledge of the Web Application Architecture space.

·      Knowledge and experience in architecting and developing e-commerce
systems.

·      Expertise in Content Management systems like Interwoven, SiteCore,
Drupal etc. is a plus.



Engineering Requirements:

·      Working ability to perform requirements elicitation, requirements
analysis using use case modeling, and requirements specification as a
supporting member of the requirements team with

       emphasis on requirements impacting persistence.

·      Knowledge and experience establishing development, build and
integration environments for RoR-based systems.

·      Knowledge and experience establishing and enforcing development
standards for small development teams (upto 4 developers).

·      Knowledge of databases and data modeling is necessary.

·      Knowledge of basic system and network administration tasks is
necessary.

·      Working ability to identify architecturally significant requirements
such as caching, scaling, performance, pagination etc. and provide
conclusive technical recommendations for addressing

       such requirements.

·      Consulting experience is a must.
·      Work with interactive agencies or marketing departments is a plus.*
