Its role is to facilitate electronic trading order flow between external clients and internal trading desks / execution services. Algorithmic trading; low latency; high performance; messaging… The group has 3 teams handling different trading engines (mainly developed in C/C++ and Java); however the team, where THIS coder will work in, handles ancillary systems (ie. trade reporting or audit systems) and picks up “all the other stuff”. Keys to winning this job – VERY strong C/C++ (practically architecture level; very senior types (it says 5 yrs below, but think 8 yrs in experience as a minimum). Also – experience with low latency (group run their stuff at 50-75ms), high performance, messaging, multi-threading. Linux platform, and they need to know Oracle / SQL as well. The more the candidate has, in terms of the added skills (C#, .NET, etc.), the better the fit to be able to work with the other teams in this group.
