Technical Architect Location: Phoenix, AZ Duration: 4 Months + Requirements for Job
Role Purpose: Responsible for the technical direction of platform(s) or set of applications within a portfolio, providing consulting expertise, leveraging business and technical knowledge to support business strategies and deliver business value. Plays an integral role in building and enhancing the infrastructure required to support the platform(s) or set of applications in terms of robustness, scalability, availability and efficiency. Works with Technical and Business Architects to ensure developments support the business and IT strategic plan. Functional Role: Successful candidates must demonstrated experience with Voice/ Telecommunications technologies and Voice Application development. Primary focus will be on the areas of Computer Telephony Integration in an Enterprise deployment, Voice Response/Voice Browsers and Voice XML (VXML), Call Recording systems, Predictive Dialers, PSTN Carrier Advance features globally, Advance Contact routing and Networking (both Voice and Data). Additional focus areas of knowledge would be on enterprise Voice switching infrastructures, Call Center technologies and management systems, Voice mails and other voice infrastructure peripherals. Advanced knowledge of all phases of software systems programming for applications and integration into the enterprise structures. Must be able to translate a Strategic vision into an applied business and delivery focus for project delivery. Candidate must have expertise in providing technical leadership and subject matter expertise for multiple innovation initiatives, applying existing and emerging technologies to deliver innovative solutions for various BSD and COE organizations, strategy development, experience in a broad range of enterprise technology domains and technology implementations as well as strong knowledge of industry trends and emerging technologies. Strong presentation/verbal communication skills and the ability to train and mentor team members are also necessary. Good interpersonal skills, including strong decision-making and negotiation skills. Must have influencing ability, lead collaboration through matrixed teams, and drive personal accountability, innovation and change. Technical knowledge of distributed and mainframe systems architecture and design is important. Recommended Experience: Position requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or 5-7 years progressive experience with system design and development services. In the alternative, employer will accept a suitable combination of formal education and work experience. Typically has prior experience in multiple IT disciplines with a proven understanding of architectural concepts (data, technical and solution), issues and trends. Familiar with architecture frameworks such as TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework). Requires advanced to expert level knowledge and understanding of architecture, applications systems design and integration with a detailed understanding of applicable programming methodologies. Extensive experience using a systems analysis and design methodology and an excellent understanding of industry trends and tools. Background knowledge in the following areas is a plus: • Service Delivery and ITIL experience. • Web technical architecture components including Tomcat, Websphere, Sun JES servlet containers and Apache HTTP server. • Knowledge of communications protocols including TCP/IP, HTTP/S, and SOA • Networking at the conceptual, logical and physical levels. • Experience with SDLC practices including Subversion, Maven 2, jUnit, jTest and collaborative programming practices. • Good hands-on experience with setup and deployment of environments either J2EE or .Net and understanding of how these technologies interact with other middleware components. • Industry architecture certifications like TOGAF or developer/system certifications.
