EXCELLENT VERBAL COMMUNICATION REQUIRED

SUMMARY:
This contract position works with the existing local and remote IT
teams and participates in technical stack upgrade activities.
Defines, creates and maintains Oracle applications in an effort to
perform a technical upgrade of hardware for existing instances of
Oracle EBS for production, DEV and TEST environments. Analyzes, tests,
and implements physical database design supporting Oracle EBS versions
11i including base definition, structure, documentation, and
operational guidelines. Ensures data recovery, maintenance, data
integrity, and space requirements for physical database are met
through monitoring of policies, procedures, and standards relating to
database management. Audits the current environments, provides
capacity planning and best practices for the future production/
development/test environments, which may include establishing new
standards and procedures. This person works with fellow IT application
managers on troubleshooting performance and interface issues.  Follows
and enforces all procedures related to Sarbanes/Oxley. Relies on
extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. This
person performs a variety of tasks as required by this dynamic
environment.  A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Typically reports to top IT management. Workload regularly includes
tasks be done outside of normal business hours.


1.      DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

a)   Install, upgrade, maintain, monitor, patch and tune Oracle
eBusiness 11i, Oracle and related databases
b)   Carry out independent assignments and/or project participation
such as upgrading Oracle Applications 11i and Oracle 10gAS server,
including Discoverer
c)   Maintain and develop backup/recovery process for Oracle eBusiness
Suite installations, using RMAN, BCV, or scripts for online and
offline backups and disaster recovery
d)   Perform Oracle eBusiness Suite and associated Technical Stack
patch analysis, planning, and application
e)   Analyze, test and implement physical database design supporting
Oracle EBS versions 11i and 12i, as required
f)    Setup, patching, debugging, upgrading and installation of Oracle
software applications and tool sets; Documents and maintains
consistent and current patches across test, development and production
environments
g)   Audits the current environments, provides capacity planning and
best practices for future production/development/test environments
h)   Provide support to developers with troubleshooting and
performance tuning, including System Global Area (SGA) analysis, latch
contention analysis, disk subsystem tuning, and Structured Query
Language (SQL) tuning of Oracle and custom views and queries
i)     Creates and monitors alerts for user sessions, concurrent
processes, table extents, and locks for production and test/
development systems.
j)    Participates in any and all reasonable work activities as may be
deemed suitable and assigned by management.
k)   Conforms to, supports, and enforces all Company policies and
procedures.

2.      REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

a) BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
                                            i.    Bachelor’s Degree in
Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or other related
field.  Work experience may substitute for a degree if required.
                                           ii.    8+ years of
experience working with Oracle ERP systems versions 11 and/or 11i.
                                          iii.    8+ years of
experience Oracle RDBMS systems in a complex, 24x7 environment.
                                          iv.    5+ years of
experience working in an IT organization, preferably supporting
medical device or pharmacy.



a) OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
                                            i.    Knowledge and
experience with Sarbanes/Oxley IT controls.
                                           ii.    Strong computer
skills and intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office
software.
                                          iii.    Ability to deal
effectively with all employees and external business contacts while
conveying a positive, service-oriented attitude.
                                          iv.    Ability to
communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
                                           v.    Ability to maintain
complete confidentiality and discretion in business relationships and
exercise sound business judgment.
