We currently have an immediate requirement for a *Escalation Engineer* in Redwood Shores, CA. This is a *PERMANENT* position. *Responsibilities * · You will be the server engineer responsible for troubleshooting, fixing and providing root cause analysis on customer escalations from our technical support team. · At times it may be required that you interface directly with customers via phone and webex. · You will also lead and mentor a team of developers in our china office. · You will also work closely with the core application development to inform as well as be art of overall platform improvement based on what you are seeing in the field. · The person has to work between the Technical Support team and the Engineering team. *Qualifications* · 8-10 years of C++ (multi-thread coding) development experience on highly scalable web/server products. Additionally, Java experience is a plus. · Strong experience and understanding of networking protocols specifically on sockets, TCP/IP and UDP. · Strong experience with Proxy Servers and Load Balancers · Strong Server Profiling experience to build scalable and high performing servers · Strong experience developing and supporting a hosted service with 24x7 uptime requirements. · Experience with data encryption and security. · Experience developing on multiple platforms such as Solaris and Windows. · Experience with Oracle database. · Mobile device experience is a plus. · Full software development life-cycle experience.
