Job Description: Build and remediate Sybase databases Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology. 5 + years Sybase (12.5.4 15) DB Design 5+ years RDBMS installation, upgrades, administration, configuration and tuning 5+ years Sybase Replication Server 5+ years solid skills in database performance factors, monitoring tools and tuning procedures Knowledge and practical experience with: AIX, SUN Solaris, Linux, LDAP, Proficient Shell scripting skills Display a good understanding of both the RDBMS and the underlying operating system including but not limited to: oDatabase performance tuning, replication, Data Guard, High Availability (Oracle RAC), monitoring tools and tuning procedures. oStrong database management skills including backup and recovery best practices in a high-availability environment.
