Location: New York, NY Duration: 2 years Max Hourly Rate: USD $75.00 Client currently seeks a VmWare Engineer/Specialist to join our team in New York, NY This requires In-person interview. Working hours: 35 hrs/week Please include 2 references on the last page of resume Assignment Description Position Summary: Designs, builds, administers QA Lab environments for iLearn program. Test environments include enterprise data core, enterprise service bus and web services, as well as several stand alone DOE systems that feed into the iLearn program. Integration with a third party platform hosted in cloud is also required. Microsoft Team Foundation Server will be used to manage builds and releases and to automate deployment to QA environments, including automated set up and tear down if needed. Conducts knowledge transfer regularly to project stakeholders and others as requested. Position Functions or Responsibilities: Designs, sets up and automates creation and administration of QA environments using VMWare Lab Manager for iLearn program Works with Release Engineer to utilize tools within Microsoft Team Foundation Server 2010 to automate deployment of software builds (software and data tier) to QA test environments Works closely with Infrastructure team admins to ensure correct set up and administration of target test server environments Trains others as needed on VMWare Lab Management, virtualized environment design and administration and automated deployments of software and data tier assets using Microsoft Team Foundation Server 2010. Experience: Must have a minimum of 5 years working experience with VMWare as an Engineer or Sr. Level Professional. Must be able to demonstrated track record of setting up and administering QA lab environments using VMWare Lab Manager in enterprise level setting. Must have experience using Microsoft Team Foundation Server 2010 to build and deploy software packages to test environments. Must have experience using open source test tools to conduct UAT testing; Selenium. Must be familiar with Windows 2003, Windows 2008, and Red Hat Linux administration. General familiarity with web technologies and their administration. Certification: VCP and/or VCAP certification; Desired VMware Certified Design Expert (VCDX) Required Qualifications:VmWare Administration VCP and/or VCAP certification Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or Software Engineering or relevant experience Demonstrated track record setting up and administering QA lab environments using VMWare Lab Manager in enterprise setting VMware Certified Design Expert (VCDX) Familiarity with Windows 2003, Windows 2008, and Red Hat Linux administration General familiarity with web technologies and their administration Experience using Microsoft Team Foundation Server 2010 to build and deploy software packages to test environments Experience using open source test tools such as Selenium to conduct UAT testing.
