Location: Albany, NY. Duration: 18 Months Client currently seeks a Solutions Architect to join our team in Albany, NY. In-person interview is mandatory. 2 references required. Project Description: The NARIP project is a multi-agency project initiated to achieve the objectives of the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act. The project consists of several goals concerned with collecting and dissemination of current and accurate criminal and mental health information that is necessary to determine eligibility for gun ownership. The project consists of several initiatives, which collect data from multiple agencies and transmit it to eligible federal and state law enforcement agencies, as well as use it to expand and correct DCJS’s own records. Position Functions or Responsibilities: The primary responsibilities of this technical architect will be to: Quickly get up to speed on application development standards, technologies, and SDLC. Work with the various stakeholders, both within and outside CLIENT, to develop standards based solutions that satisfy the overall requirements. Lead the analysis and design activity consistent with standards in collaboration with various stakeholders, both from client and external agencies. Document the architectures, and designs, in accordance with clients standard practices. Implement the designed solutions, including SOAP based web services, EJB’s, Portlets, and other components as required. Under the guidance of the clients Enterprise Architecture team, ensure that the team follows the clients SDLC, and that all required artifacts are generated. NOTE: This is a hands-on architect position. The candidate must have the ability and willingness to engage in development activities. ASSOCIATED SKILL SETS Candidates must also have six of the preferred skilled sets listed below. Accordingly, candidates not meeting the supporting experiential specifications below will not be considered for the position. 1. 4 or more years experience in the use of Source Code Management systems, with Subversion experience preferred. 2. 4 or more years experience in the use of build tools with at least 2 years of Ant, Maven, and Hudson. 3. Developed and deployed at least 3 applications in 3+-tiered architecture based on JEE, with at least one of which used web services. 4. 2 years experience with IBM DataPower XI-50 appliance to implement web services security, and for transformations and routing. 5. At least 4 years experience with leading development teams in following full software life-cycle methodologies like RUP and Agile. 6. Experience with ORM tools like Hibernate and JPA. 7. 2 years experience with IBM Message Broker using ESQL or Java. 8. 3 or more years experience with JSR168, JSR268 portlet standards and/or JSF. 9. 2 or more years experience in implementing systems using JMS and IBM MQ. 10. Experience using XSL style sheets 11. Experience in building web applications using Struts, JSF, JSP, JavaScript, AJAX and/or CSS. 12. Experience with Business Process Monitoring, Business Process Execution Language concepts/annotations/tool-sets. 13. Exeperience with Service Oriented Architecture concepts/tools/etc. Required Qualifications 8 Years- Java - J2EE Other Required Qualifications/Experience: 8 Years- Minimum of 8 years experience in developing n-tier applications in a JAVA/JEE environment, with at least one in IBM WAS 6.1 or higher. 2 Years- Working knowledge of and experience in creating UML diagrams such as class diagrams, sequence diagrams, use case models, activity diagrams, deployment diagrams, and statechart diagrams. 2 Years- Minimum 2 years experience in developing Java based Web Services and exposure to JAX-WS/JAXB. 2 Years- XML, XML Schema 2 Years- Working knowledge of JUnit. 5 Years- building web applications. 8 Years- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills for documenting architectures and designs, and interacting with various technical and business stakeholders.
