financial domain.

strong warehousing methodolgies, star scheme methodologies, designing data
models.  not a DBA--must know trading concepts, P&L for example.

can be an ex--programmer, DBA...



This is a senior data modeling lead role in the application architecture and
development job family.

Main responsibilities include ownership of the data modeling and data
architecture function for the PCDW, a large scale, global data warehouse
that consists of an Oracle 11g RAC implementation,

Unix-based batch and intraday job streams that source data from various
systems, a custom .NET C# & C++ middleware that enables ad hoc user queries,
and several Excel-based and web-based front-end applications including
Oracle Business Intelligence.





*Main Duties/Responsibilities:*

Act as the functional lead for data modeling and data architecture.

Define, document, and articulate design goals and standards.

Take ownership of the data model, both logical and physical, inclusive of
version control.

Analyze and consolidate business requirements across a multitude of data
sourcing projects to design a common dimensional data model with conformed
dimensions and facts.

Act as the senior point of contact for collaborating with the middleware
team to prototype and define data access meta-models that drive the ad-hoc
SQL generation.

Support developers in ETL design and documentation of data flows and
interfaces.

Awareness of partitioning and indexing strategies for high performance.

Perform volumetrics analysis for capacity planning.

Employ best practices in data profiling and designing solutions for handling
data quality issues.
