ICD-10 Analyst 2 Week Training in Seattle (no expenses paid) Then deployed to various clients throughout US (flight there is paid and hotel and car) for 6 Month contracts 12 Month Contract The ideal candidate will have 3-7 years of experience in the healthcare industry working with health plans, providers and healthcare IT vendors. Demonstrate knowledge of medical coding and billing, ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, GEMs, HL7 Basics, HIPAA 5010, and Regulatory Compliance framework. Currently working into the area of ICD-9 to ICD-10 transformation nearly 2 years; well versed with the ICD mapping complexities, GEM, ICD-10 impact on business/IT of health plans (particularly medical policies, contracts) and current solutions offerings in the market. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES •Review client's ICD-10 assessment results and identify gaps, if any, from a process and system change perspective. •Review the client's current ICD-9 claims experience and map them to the equivalent ICD-10 codes. •Facilitate cross-functional mapping sessions with the client, including participants from benefit configuration, provider, provider reimbursement, finance, claims processing and medical policy. These mapping sessions will review some of the more complicated mappings based on the client claims experience to determine/suggest/ discuss/reach consensus on the most appropriate map for the client. •Facilitate sessions with the Medical Policy team, Clinical Analysts and Care Management professionals for decisions related to review of clinical documentations, policies and procedures. •Develop the process and approach to use for conducting the mapping for the remaining ICD-10 diagnosis and procedure codes expected for the client. •Provide thought leadership to the client regarding leading practices, Edifecs tools and methods available to support and assist with the ICD-10 mapping efforts. •Gather business requirements through a variety of techniques (e.g. work sessions and interviews) and facilitate design workshops. •Develop required work products for the business process and application domains of change. •Establish credibility at all levels with the client and build problem-solving partnerships with the clients and colleagues. •Provide leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel. REQUIRED SKILL SET & EXPERIENCE ICD-10 Space: Expertise in one or more area mentioned below •Lead ICD-10 impact assessment for health plans including some of the large commercial plans. •ICD 9 - 10 Transformation: 1-2.5 years •Created mapping business rules of all ICD 10 codes for a GEM based crosswalk. •ICD 9 - 10 Transformation: Product development, impact assessment, crosswalk/code mapping. •Ideated and lead development of crosswalk of a product offering in the market from domain perspective. Clinical Knowledge & Client Management •Practice of medicine with a good knowledge of medical terminology •Conducted prove of concepts of proposed components with commercial and blue plans. •Consulting engagements. •Business Case Development: Assessment of client's business needs, feasibility analysis to develop business case. •Experience of working in administrative areas of hospital managing clinical and supportive services. Healthcare IT: Expertise in more than one area mentioned below •Healthcare IT -- 4-7 years •EMR, HER and Hospital management information system. •4010-5010 transformation: Product development, Business Impact assessment and tools implementation. •Business Intelligence tools: Identified key performance indicators to create dashboards for hospitals to monitor health reform compliances. •Solutions: P4P, hospital performance management, meaningful use.
