Storage Arrays Engineer The storage arrays engineer will be performing the following engineering activities: configuration and customization of platforms Troubleshooting implementation and interconnects Troubleshooting network traffic and performing fault analysis support As a SAN/Storage engineer you will be responsible for the management of Storage Services for DirecTV. As a senior technical resource, you will be involved in the daily management of the Storage services, including Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, and Capacity Planning. Your primary objective is to make sure services are meeting the expectations as defined in the Service Level Agreement. As the Deep Technical Support (senior level) advisor on the account you will provide leadership to other team members. You will take ownership for solving the root cause of failures and work with cross-functional teams (including the customer) to optimize the performance of the technical solution. Working closely with Engineering, you will test and deploy new, highly complex technical solutions. This is a customer-facing role that requires a professional, can-do attitude. You will work across multiple cross-functional teams to develop solutions and solve complex problems. In this position, you will be asked to perform a combination of these duties: Support day-to-day delivery of SAN/Storage support Support, build, test, and implement SAN storage solutions into production. Pro-actively manage the SAN storage services, providing technical and process oversight for a subset of the infrastructure. Represent the delivery team in account-specific meetings. Incident Management – react to and resolve break/fix issues Problem Management - develops action plans, corrects root cause of technical problems, and leads escalations. Change Management - Governs planned changes that are complex in nature and provides recommendation to either approve or deny solutions based on potential risk to production. Manages process improvement and cost reduction projects. Keep software and firmware version current, ensuring compatibility with all components in the infrastructure. Qualifications: A minimum of 2 years SAN/Storage expertise preferably Possess expert level knowledge in the following areas: SAN Storage Technologies and mgmt tools: HP XP/EVA Brocade DCFM/XPPA Command View NAS Solutions OpenVMS, UX, Windows operating systems, servers, and software Backup Technologies: NetBackup/Data Protector/ABS High Availability concepts and strategies Networking Must be willing to work flexible hours to include 2nd or 3rd shift and perhaps weekends Work on an on-call rotation schedule as required A BS/MS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering.
