*Location*: Chicago, IL *Length*: 3-4 months w/option for additional time *Start Date*: ASAP * * *Overview:* Provides Oracle RAC DBA skills and should be able to perform typical day to day DBA activities and database guidance. *The resource will be working on Oracle ASM, RAC/Grid Infrastructure (prefer has experience on 11gR2).* * * *Requirements:* 1. Must have *Minimum 2+yrs experience in Oracle 10g & 11i in a PRODUCTION ENVIORMENT:* *a. **Oracle ASM, RAC/Grid Infrastructure (prefer has experience on 11gR2).* *b. **Maintain and monitor scheduled job in Grid Control include RMAN backups. * *c. **Oracle standby database, * *d. **Data Guard, * *e. **Oracle Replication experience would be Plus* 2. Must be able to perform database administration activities on servers including: a. Perform oracle RAC/DB installations, configurations, version upgrades and patches apply. * i. **Defining and implementing physical database layout (both on disk and within the database) * * ii. **Develop scripts for database task scheduling, monitoring and maintenance* * iii. **Database monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting* * iv. **Managing database security, roles, and profiles* * v. **Managing database growth, data purging/archiving* b. Manage, monitor and health check of Oracle RAC and Databases. * i. **HEAVY PERFORMANCE /System Tuning (Stats, database instance, indexes, parallelism, other DB parameters)* * ii. **Creating/Managing DB objects & stored procedures* * iii. **Capacity Planning* * iv. **Process Transition Planning* * v. ** Query Optimization* c. Assist development group in debugging and tuning PL/SQL code and stored procedures. d. Write PL/SQL scripts to fix data issues that arise. 3. Generate ad hoc reports as requested. 4. Must be able to interface effectively with all levels of the organization. 5. Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be strong and effective communicator 6.
