resume along with contact information.If you are not looking for new projects, please feel free to pass on this email to your friends or relatives who might be intrest SQA Engineer Location:Boston, MA Duration: 6 month+ contract ONLY EAD GC USC MUST BE ABLE TO INTERVIEW IN PERSON The Software Quality Engineer (SQE) is responsible for analyzing, testing, and resolving technical issues to ensure that developed products meet the design specifications and are within Pearson standards. Desired knowledge, skills and abilities: •Organize, implement, and execute defined testing processes within the test team •Identify, recommend and implement mitigation strategies to keep testing work on track •Monitor QA work and escalate issues when appropriate. •Ensure status of Quality Center, Rally, etc. are up to date. •Validate defects and triage Severity 2 defects for the release. •Engage Accessibility & Compatibility team to begin accessibility evaluation. •Confirm compatibility testing, engage QA Lab Administrators early to prepare browser/operating systems are set up for testing. •Configure Lab manager (if new boxes are needed) and spin up any new configurations. •Ensure integration testing is conducted as needed – set up meetings with other teams, discuss testing needs, ensure testing is done. •Expert experience or knowledge required in the following: SQE process, SQE documentation, Agile development methodology, and testing. •Intermediate experience or knowledge required in: HTML; XML; Active Server Pages (ASP); JavaScript; Visual Basic, VB.NET; VB Script , SQL/TSQL(Includes DML/DDL/function commands), stored procedures, DB Tracing, DB profiling/SQL Profiler, impact analysis, DB sharding; AJAX, JSON, XPath. Understanding of Coding Fundamentals (variable declaration, program flow, functions, error handling, etc) •Understanding of Web Services (SOAP, REST). •Familiarity with automated testing tools (HP LoadRunner, QuickTest Pro, Selenium). Preferred but not required: Fiddler, Soap UI Pro. Responsibilities: Plans, creates (including scripting) and executes automated tests using an automated scripting tool: Selenium, Cucumber, SoapUI, etc. Follows the framework(s) created within Pearson for automated testing. Adds to the current automation framework(s) and/or contributes new ideas for other frameworks. Performs highly complex testing on projects using technical specifications and requirements: plans, schedules and implements testing projects, defines test objectives, writes scripts (manual and automated), performs smoke, functional, system, integration, and/or regression tests, and performs back end data validation verification using SQL or similar method. Investigates and reports technical issues by communicating and working with various departments including: Development, Product, Project Management, Systems and Application support groups, Network Engineering, etc. Formulates test plans including systems analysis, risk analysis, writing and plotting test strategies, and determines how to report defects (pre/post- production). Document test cases in using requirements/User Story acceptance criteria in Rally. Performs, documents, and communicates risk analysis. Keeps record of test progress and results using test management tools like Quality Center, Rally, and Jira’s bug reporting tool. Reports progress of project testing to SQE Manager and project team on a weekly basis Other duties as assigned. Performs API/Web Services testing, suggests new/better methods for this testing.
