*Title:* Enterprise Solution Architect *Location:* Reston, VA *Duration:* 6 month contract to hire (So no H-1 candidates please) ********MUST BE ABLE TO DO A FACE TO FACE********* *Description:* * * The Solution Architect has the responsibility for expanding our footprint within the U.S. Federal Government by creating compelling Data Center Transformation solutions using clients portfolio offerings to meet government requirements. These solutions cover the full scope of a large scale Data Center and Private Cloud environments and require an architect with a broad range of knowledge, a high level of experience, and the ability to apply that knowledge and experience to quickly respond to client RFPs and RFIs. The Solution Architect will work closely with the clients Federal Systems team to: - Analyze detailed customer Data Center and Cloud infrastructure requirements (RFPs, RFIs) - Map customer requirements to clients solutions - Create detailed work packages including cost elements and transition plans for achieving steady-state operations - Guide the proposed technical solutions through the Unisys Deal Review Board for approval * * *Required Skills:* * * § 2+ years’ experience designing Data Center and Cloud infrastructure solutions and responding to RFPs and/or RFIs § Experience developing proposals and associated solutions in the U.S. Federal Government space. § Deep, technical SME/Architect expertise (7+ years) in one or more of the following areas: o Advisory Services – IT Strategy, Business to IT Alignment, Cloud Awareness Workshop, Feasibility Analysis, Value Engineering (Business case development including ROI and TCO analysis) o CloudBuild Services – Advising Clients about Private Cloud, Detailed assessment of client environment and recommending roadmap, designing and implementing private cloud (IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS) o Plan, Design and Implement Services for Data Center Transformation – Detailed assessment of client’s existing environment and recommending a roadmap, ITSM, Server, Storage, Security, Network (LAN/WAN), Data Center Facilities (Power, Cooling, Fire), Physical Security, design and implementation of data center consolidation and move o Windows and Linux Operating Systems o RDBMS - SQL, Oracle o IT Automation – ITSM/ITIL/COBIT, automated physical and virtual server provisioning, orchestration, disaster recovery, SAP process optimization o Data Management and Storage – Storage products (e.g. EMC), storage virtualization, storage optimization, thin provisioning, deduplication, backup, replication o Virtualization - server virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), server consolidation, desktop virtualization (e.g. cloud-based solution), Unified Communication (Cloud-based solution) § Conversant in all technical areas listed above. § Working knowledge of major cloud service providers’ service catalogs and ability to formulate solutions within the associated framework Desired Skills: § Experience working in large consulting organizations such as IBM, Booz, CSC, Deloitte, Accenture, PWC, or SAIC. § Relevant certifications in: o IT Services Management (ITIL certification), o Systems Engineering and Administration (MCSE, MCSA, RHCE, SCSA, etc.), o Virtualization (VCP, VCAP, VCDX), o Storage (EMC Certificates), o Network (CompTIA Network+), o Security (CISSP, CompTIA Security+) § Working knowledge of IT operational procedures, processes, and automation technologies. § Knowledge and experience with IT infrastructure (server, storage, network, security) design and implementation. § Data Center and Data Center management experience. § Knowledge and experience in design and implementation of private cloud. § Familiarity with database and infrastructure software design, implementation, maintenance, upgrade and operations technique. § Knowledge of data processing and network/communication concepts, products and protocols § Familiarity with various operating systems and industry-accepted standards and client/server application computing environments. § Experience in project management including managing and motivating technical personnel. § Possesses strong product, technology, and industry knowledge. § Experience performing storage and enterprise platform systems design, implementation, troubleshooting, and management across heterogeneous environments. § Working knowledge of storage technologies (i.e., SAN, NAS, iSCSI, Fiber Channel, Enterprise Storage Arrays, Data Replication, HSM). Administration of multiple UNIX environments, hardware and operating systems. § Experience with design (blueprinting) and developing conceptual, logical, and technical architecture models.
