*Position: Oracle RAC DBA
Location: Chicago, IL
Length: 3-4 months w/option for additional time
Start Date: ASAP*
*Overview:*
Provides Oracle RAC DBA skills and should be able to perform typical day to
day DBA activities and database guidance. Consultant will perform DBA
maintenance tasks as directed by DBA Manager on Oracle Database
environments.
Responsible for assisting & supporting developers with various projects
includes SQL and database tuning. The resource will be working on Oracle
ASM, Data Pump, RMAN, RAC/Grid Infrastructure (prefer has experience on 9i
to 11gR2).
*Requirements:*
Must have Minimum 4-6+yrs experience in Oracle 9ig & 11g in Solaris and
Windowsenvironments.
Install and configure Oracle 11gR2 database and ASM.
Set-up and maintain OEM Grid Control, it includes the
installation of OEM agents on Solaris and Windows(2003/2008) environments.
Manage, monitor and health check of Oracle Databases by using
OEM/UNIX shell scripts or customized SQL scripts.
Analyze AWR/ADDM reports and providing recommendations
Perform tuning of Oracle databases as well as specific SQL statements.
Configure and implement Oracle Data Guard (Experience with fast-start
failover/Observer is a plus).
Configure and maintain RMAN backups/recovery in database, tablespace and
datafile levels as well as different backup strategies/methodologies.
Investigation and correction of problems, which arise in developed scripts
and applications. This includes determining problems as they occur, and
making necessary programming changes.
Generate ad hoc reports as requested.
Must be able to interface effectively with all levels of the organization.
Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be strong and effective
communicator
Good writing skills and ability to multi task in the support of this
project.
