Long term 12-24 months. Rates are competitive. Summary: Our client is seeking an experienced Connecture Java Developer/Analyst with consulting skills. This person will become a key contributor to our Technical Software Operations group for the sole purpose of deploying and enhancing new software functionalities and technologies for use in supporting our client. The Connecture Java Developer/Analyst’s primary responsibility will be supporting the success of project implementations, including transition to customer support. Connecture Java Developer/Analyst works closely with other members of the technical software operations team to deliver high quality web-based solutions for our client. This key role must have prior knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies including: client requirements gathering, design specifications, solution development and testing of client applications, client support, training, and systems integration. Responsibilities: Enhancing all advanced aspects of presentation-tier and middle-tier web applications using Java and J2EE in the WebWork framework. Perform various coding and programming tasks, such as design or development of Web front-end, back-end Web-based applications, and Web/Internet services. May involve coding and integration of text, graphics, sound, and/or video. Facilitate requirements and fit/gap workshops with other technical staff on technical topics and non-functional requirements. Create functional and technical designs for Connecture extensions and configurations, such as workflow and/or rules. Code/unit test Connecture extensions in a J2EE environment. Investigate and resolve situations where actual test results do not match expected test results. Work closely, establish and maintain positive working relationships with client, partners, and fellow staff on matters related to the technical architecture. To uphold highest professional standards and work ethic expected of all our technical staff and to lead by example when working with less experienced staff. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Science/Systems, Mathematics, Engineering or other advanced science; Master’s degree preferred. 4 to 5 years of experience developing software applications and/or web pages using the Java language. Client-focused attitude with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to clearly communicate and share solutions with fellow team members. Proficient in analyzing software requirements and documenting technical specifications for a web-based solution. Experience with the full software development life cycle, with emphasis on technical design and documentation activities. Experience within the past year in a software organization with work cycles and product complexities in an enterprise software solution. Effective listening and problem solving skills. Experience with Webwork, Spring, Struts and/or Hibernate preferred. BEA WebLogic and/or IBM WebSphere experience preferred. Client facing and/or previous lead experience preferred. Experience with PDF generation software preferred. Java Certified Programmer preferred. Abilities/Skills: Read and comprehend technical manuals. Problem analysis. Able to be on call 24 hours / day. Verbal and written communications. Work on projects with guidance from mentor.
