Role purpose:

The role is of a senior test analyst to perform Manual & Automation Testing.

The candidate will be self-directed and highly motivated individual with
minimum 7-10(for Sr. group lead position) and (5-7 years for Test analyst
role) years of hands on testing experience using in various phases System
Test, System Integration Test, Regression Test. An attitude to do whatever
it takes to get the project done and deliver by project deadlines.

The Test responsibility will consist of both System Test and System
Integration test levels carried out in an Iterative fashion.



Main duties, responsibilities and deliverables:



1. Project Testing Activities (85%)

Taking responsibility of the project testing activities. This includes:

• Review requirements, solution, design and other project specific
technical documentation

• Review Test documentation

• Provide resource and test effort estimation

• Produce the Project Test Plan (with re-planning where necessary)

• Analysing requirements and technical solutions in order to write Test
Strategies for planned levels / phases of testing

• Produce Test Strategy and other project specific Test documentation

• Allocate tasks to team members and monitor team's progress

• Produce (or assist in producing)  Requirements Traceability Matrix, Test
Scenarios and Test Scripts

• Define and preparing (or assist) Test Data

• Perform (or assist in) Test Execution and support Defect Management

• Identify and escalate Risks / Issues / Dependencies

• Provide regular progress reports to Project and Test Management

• Liaise with client project stakeholders to address for example knowledge
gaps, queries and any other such dependencies

• Present the project testing facts in forums/meetings where necessary

• Attend / arrange meetings, workshops.



2. Supporting testing/training activities

Take responsibility for the support for other departments’ use of the
testing environments. This includes:

• Assisting development team(s) in understanding Test Processes so as to
enable them to do structured Component Integration Testing

• Assisting business staff in UAT activities

• Mentoring internal testing resources

• Sharing industry knowledge through ad-hoc workshops.



3. Developing and maintaining processes and procedures

Developing, implementing and maintaining processes and procedures for Test
& Acceptance activities. This includes:

• Test & Acceptance processes

• Configuration Management processes

• Auditing T&A and Configuration Management processes

• Identifying and advising on improvements to processes.



Key success indicators:

• Good level of test experience in team leading test activities for medium
to large projects

• Very good understanding of Test Processes and relevant Project Processes

• Capable of producing quality test artefacts

• Extensive experience working in the 'Financial Services' business domain

• Good team player with excellent team / people management skills

• Successfully working in a high pressure environment to tight timescales
and deadlines



Person Specification

Professional Experience

• Software Testing experience in the 'Financial Services' business domain
(preferably in FX, Payment – RTGS, SWIFT)

• Extensive Software Testing experience, including roles within at least 5
medium to large projects

• Experience as a customer managing the delivery of at least one medium to
large new system project (or a major new enhancement of an existing
operational system) from a Third Party IT Vendor

• Experience of managing or working with teams within an offshored service
model

• Experience in producing various Test artefacts including Test Strategy /
Plans, Test Scenarios, Test Scripts

• Experience in Defect Management

• Experience in XMLs and database interrogation using SQL

• Familiarity with the ISO 20022 Universal financial industry message
scheme.
