*Position: Tax Consultant with Strong Vertex functional Consultant *

*Location: Somers, NY*

*Duration: 6 months *



*Responsibilities

                  *

*Responsible for maintaining, implementing solutions and supporting the
operational needs of the Corporate Tax department’s computer systems,
providing daily technical and application baseline support in running the
business. Must have experience supporting Indirect Tax, Sales and Use Tax
Modules and will be expected to maintain and support multiple applications.
Expected to closely work with clients and vendors to perform analysis,
design, test, system upgrades, package implementations and enhancements,
following company standards and internal controls and processes. Relies on
extensive experience and judgment to plan and multitask to accomplish
goals. *



*Tech/Functional Skills:*

*Strong Vertex functional & technical experience*

*Tax functional competency*

*In-Depth understanding on how Vertex operates and Sales & Tax space as
well as Order to Cash and\or Purchase to Pay concepts*

*Thorough understanding of Vertex Central and its components - My
Enterprise, tax Setup, Tools & Reporting *

*Good knowledge/working experience on Vertex Web Services, Vertex
Databases, *

*Experience with Batch Client Interface (BCI) interface tools, OIC (Oracle
Integration Component), RTE (Retail Tax Extract), Web Services Live Call
(XML), Windows Services for Vertex application*

*Packaged system implementations with n-tier architecture (ex. Citrix,
Application Server, Web Server, Database Server, etc.)*

*Project execution*

*SDLC\Methodology*

*Vendor Management*

*Collaboration with internal teams to scope and deliver IT solutions*

*Client (internal) relationship management*

*System integration*

*Facilitate resolution of customer issues by logging and verifying
bugs/enhancements*

*Performing on-site client work and troubleshooting, dial-in services and
24x7 beeper support as necessary to debug customer issues*

*Enhancing job knowledge by staying current on product upgrades and issues,
attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications and
participating in professional societies*

*Developing and/or maintaining proficiency in the latest personal
productivity tools*

*4 years minimum work experience in a Product/Technical Specialist,
Software Support Analyst, Technical Support, Helpdesk Analyst or similar
type role required*

*Web server experienced preferred (Apache webserver, IBM HTTP server, IIS)*

*JSP servlet engine/container experience preferred (i.e. Tomcat, WebLogic,
Netweaver, Websphere, Oracle Application Server, Jboss) is strongly desired*

*Database experience preferred (Oracle, SQL, or DB2)*

*Understanding of java platform technology preferred*

*Web services/xml experience preferred*

*Knowledge of Business Intelligence applications (Informatica Preferred) is
a plus*

*Knowledge of LDAP or other security authentication systems a plus*
