*Position: Senior iOS Developer*

*Location: Seattle, WA*

*Duration: 6 months *



*The Senior iOS Developer works as a member of an agile team to turn
business requirements and user stories into beautiful code. *

*The Developer ensures that application code follows both industry and
Nordstrom best practices, to produce reliable, resilient, and delightful
applications. *



*Responsibilities*

*Produce high quality iOS code that satisfies both the business functional
requirements as well as non-functional requirements*

*Provide proven knowledge in iOS application functionality and limitations
including Objective C, cocoa framework, core data and other native API
integration*

*Work closely with product owners to understand and satisfy business
requirements*

*Work closely with the Application Architect to ensure consistent designs
and models throughout the product portfolio*

*Collaborate with other developers, testers, and designers across teams*

*Work effectively as part of a pair in a pair-programming environment*

*Develop features using a Test-Driven Development approach to ensure
quality*

*Write code, unit tests, and automated integration & acceptance tests*

*Perform code and design reviews*



*Skills and Expertise*

*4+ years of hands on experience in iOS development with latest iOS SDKs*

*Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle in an agile
environment and experience working on an agile team with very rapid
iterations of products*

*Solid understanding of:  *

*o        Cocoa fundamentals and best practices*

*o        common Cocoa design patterns*

*o        View Controller programming & practices*

*o        common Cocoa coding guidelines*

*o        Table View programming concepts & practices*

*o        MVC pattern as used in iOS development*

*o        network & URL loading concepts & practices*

*o        use of REST services and JSON objects*

*o        secure coding concepts and practice*

*o        memory management in iOS*

*o        block programming concepts and practices*

*o        concurrency, GCD and NSOperation concepts and practices *

*o        CoreData, CoreGraphics and CoreAnimation*

*Solid experience in performance and memory analysis using Instruments *

*Solid experience in Test-Drive Development*

*Experience in test-driven development and associated frameworks: OCUnit,
OCMock, Kiwi, etc.*

*Adheres to Nordstrom architecture, design, and coding standards and
practices, especially around security, scalability, re-usability, and
testability*

*High level understanding of business flow, feature usage/priority, and
product strategy*

*Experience building applications to work with distributed systems*
