*Job Title **     : **Business Analyst (Records Management)*

*Location**      : **Carson City (Reno), NV*

*Duration**      : **6+ months*



*PROJECT OVERVIEW*



Recent legislative changes have taken the Nevada Department of
Transportation (NDOT) from paper and microfilm based records management to
the digital world.  The agency must reconsider how it moves documents
through a full lifecycle including document classification and taxonomy;
storage and retrieval; multiple party collaboration; and retention and
disposition.  The consultant will be analyzing current NDOT practices and
available resources and provide recommendations and operational and
technical support to align the agency with RIM and ECM industry best
practices.





*Required Skills:*



·         CRM (Certified Records Manager) or equivalent experience; ERM
(Electronic Records Manager Certification) or equivalent experience; or IOA
(Information Organization and Access Specialist) or equivalent experience;

·         A minimum of 10 years of experience in the full lifecycle
management of records and information management;

·         Experience in:



o    Development of policy framework for a digital repository;

o    ERM/ECM strategic planning;

o    Taxonomy and business classification schemes; and

o    Records governance.

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

·         The ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
appropriately; and

·         The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.



*DESIRED SKILLS*



·         Experience in participating in records management or content
management projects from inception to completion for a public agency.

·         Understanding of electronic discovery methods as they relate to
records/document management.

·         Experience in transfer methodologies from multiple media sources
to a digital format with continuity strategies.



*SCOPE OF WORK*



Review existing methodologies, policies and procedures for Records and
Document Management and provide recommendations and a roadmap for the
agency to meet the following objectives:

·         Control the quantity and quality of records;

·         Transfer of current records from multiple media sources to a
digital format;

·         Digital continuity plan;

·         Simplify the activities, systems and processes of records
maintenance and use;

·         Create a records inventory;

·         Provide faster search and retrieval of documents;

·         Provide a secure collaborative work environment for digital
documents for both internal and external stakeholders;

·         Streamline information and workflow;

·         Preserve records and documents throughout their life cycle; and

·         Reduce the amount of physical space used to store documents.
