Role BI Solution Architect
Duration : 6 months+
Position can be located remotely; 75% Travel is required to the east coast.
Solution Architects work with Clients and other internal resources to
effectively
communicate, design, plan and implement capabilities that provide value to
customers. This is achieved through both verbal presentation skills and
technical
demonstrations. Activities include software demonstrations and prototypes;
customer meetings and technical presentations; account technical support;
software
installations/evaluations; network/OS compatibility determinations; assessment
of business problems and identification of solutions using various Big Data
Analytic tools (SAP HANA, Autonomy, Vertica) and BI tools (MicroStrategy,
Crystal,
etc.).
Responsible for effectively applying technical knowledge to a sales situation
and crafting solutions for clients. Establish and maintain a professional
working elationship at multiple levels both internally and with the client
by developing a core understanding of the client's unique business needs and
competitive challenges. Tailor strategy and architect solutions to meet the
needs of the client, and interface with both internal and external/industry
experts to anticipate customer needs and facilitate solution development.
Responsible for meeting or exceeding revenue, product, customer satisfaction
and market share goals for assigned account(s).
Typical Duties:
Meets directly with client's senior leaders to identify Enterprise
BI strategy, objectives and solutions
Works within overall project plan and schedule
Provides feedback to customers and creates structured documentation,
including specifications and weekly status reports
Advises client on configuration and implementation options based on
best practices
Participates in the business requirements gathering process for client
customizations
Supports solution installation, customization, testing, and
deployment,
including preparation of test scenarios. Oversees client user acceptance testing
Acts as a technical mentor for clients in transferring solution
critical
knowledge
Collaborates with customer team participants
Ensures that all implementation methodology deliverables are complete
and on-time
Generates timely project status, time, and expense reports as
requested
by management
Provide leadership to technical project internal and external teams
Qualifications
A technical degree in computer science or engineering
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
The ability to work as part of a close-knit, worldwide team of
Solutions
Architects
Time management skills in a dynamic sales environment
The flexibility to switch gears quickly from one assignment to the
next
Familiarity with at least one of the following operating systems:
Windows NT, Linux, and Solaris
A demonstrable knowledge of at least TWO of the following
Scripting/Programming
paradigms is required: C/C++, Java, JavaScript, Perl, ASP, HTML, DHTML, .NET,
XML, PHP, COM Objects, CGI.
Previous experience working in a customer-facing role
Experience with database technology such as Microsoft SQL, Oracle
and Oracle Exadata
Experience with reporting technology such as MicroStrategy, Crystal
and Business Objects
Performance tuning, systems management, backup/recovery/DR scenarios
Must have excellent verbal skills and feel comfortable in group
settings
Working knowledge in Information Management, BI and Analytics a plus
