Role : Unix Admin Location: Columbus, OH Duration :6 month Interview: Phone then F2F Job Summary: The Sr. UNIX Administrator is responsible for high-level strategy, design, and optimization of AIX/Redhat Linux based operating systems. Key Responsibilities: · Develops strategies and direction for Unix solutions using current and emerging technologies. · Defines AIX/Redhat Linux standards and best practices. · Plans and recommends AIX/Redhat Linux hardware, systems management software and architecture. · Approves and modifies system designs and architecture to ensure compliance with the Unix strategy. · Evaluates and recommends new products, maintains knowledge of emerging technologies for application to the enterprise. · Ensures capacity planning is performed, and is proactive in assessing and making recommendations for improvement. · Assists in the continuous improvement of the AIX/Redhat Linux systems, reviewing consistent problems and helping design solutions to fix these problems. · Responsible for design coordination of Unix related projects. · Coaches and educates other staff members regarding Unix systems design and practices. · Ensure vendors adhere to Omnicare standards and procedures in all work they do for Omnicare. · Work on multiple activities and projects as a project team member to ensure project tasks are completed on time. · Establish and maintain communications with other internal teams regarding pertinent activities. · Some travel may be required. Management Responsibilities: None Minimum (Required) Qualifications: (must be met in order to perform the job at the required level) · Bachelor's Degree or 5-8 years' experience with AIX/Redhat Linux. · Experience with AIX/Redhat Linux operating systems. · Experience with PowerVM . · Experience with LDAP, Satellite server, and NIM. · Experience writing shell scripts. Preferred Qualifications: · Basic project management skills. · Strong interpersonal skills. · Strong written and verbal communication skills. · Attention to detail. · Ability to absorb and retain information quickly. · Willingness to learn new software, hardware, and technologies in the AIX/Redhat Linux environment. · Willingness to work outside of normal business hours to support the AIX/Redhat Linux environment. · Adept at reading, writing, and interpreting technical documentation and procedure manuals. · Highly self-motivated and self-directed. · Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks. · Ability to effectively document processes. · Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities. · Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks. · Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws (HIPAA, PHI, SOX). · Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
