*Business AnalystLocation: Washington, DC* *Duration: 6+ Months* *Interview mode: Phone or Video* *Job Description: * *The general scope and duties of this individual will cover the following:* • Facilitating effective meetings and working sessions with the Business Lead, Business Sponsor(s) and core project team members as part of the process in determining business requirements. • Compiling, developing, and finalizing all business requirements using BCBSA processes • Development of the Business Requirements Document (BRD). • Facilitating / leading the BRD walkthroughs and reviews • Obtaining BRD approvals. *• Supporting the project throughout the project lifecycle as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) of the requirements. * This support level will require the BSA to participate and review project artifacts consisting of: o Functional/System Specification o Design flows o Test Strategy docs o Test Cases *SPECIFIC SKILLS AND ABILITIES:* The ideal candidate will have the following skills or abilities: *• Must have 10+ years experience working as a Business Analyst in Custom Software Application Development Projects* *• Must have 4+ years of experience in working on Large Projects* • Good knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) • Experience in communicating and working with System Analysts • Experience with Finance or Accounting concepts is a plus • Experience in working on a large Project and with Cross Functional teams • Strong experience capturing business (as opposed to technical) requirements. • Strong experience managing to a schedule • Strong ability to deal effectively with unexpected delays and issues. • Facilitating effective meetings and document walkthroughs • Strong ability to capture and distribute meeting notes • Strong ability to track and manage issues, and open items • Excellent written and verbal communications skills • Ability to work independently • Good organization and planning skills • Strong interviewing and fact finding skills • Requirements Management • Excellent customer focus skills • No Healthcare Experience or Knowledge is required * Deliverable: • Complete set of approved business requirements.
