Title: DevOps System Administrator posted on 2014-07-07 18:13:30 Job Description:*DevOps System Administrator* Location: Milwaukee, WI Duration: 6+ months *Responsibility Level*: Responsibilities lie in the design, implementation, deployment, and support of the Panoptix Software as a Service (SAAS) applications to multiple distributed environments across both development and business level topologies. This position reports to a DevOps Engineering Manager. *Principal Duties*: - Perform application deployments across development and production environments. - Perform infrastructure/application analysis tasks across various system topologies. Analysis includes consulting with applications teams on definition and set up, assists in the installation of new systems, and devices, Monitoring, networking, and implements backup procedures to guarantee system integrity and security. - Participate and contribute in Architectural Infrastructure designs and reviews. - Provide on-call services to insure the continuity of delivery platform/environments functionality. - Provide application recovery and integration support of the associated environments to insure security, integrity and availability. - Ensure Disaster Recovery plans are current and tested during appropriate drills. - Provide consultative services to applications teams in the area of deployment and integration design. - Participate in the ongoing creation of and adherence to established standards for Application, Infrastructure and data design/function. - Participate in post implementation reviews, at the request of the applications group, to review services provided and determine what modifications might be warranted to provide a better level of service. - Participate in company sponsored training programs as well as locally available user groups to provide continuing educational opportunities. *Key Competencies*: *Strong understanding of basic application functional design, data center infrastructure, software build and deployment methodologies, and business software service topologies.* *- Experienced in Distributed Environment and Cloud topologies.* *- Experienced in Network topologies and designs.* *- Experienced in DB Clustering and Web Farming.* *- Experienced in SAN/Storage topologies and configurations.* *- Experienced in Application Deployment and configuration.* *- Strong Networking skill set.* *- Knowledgeable in the SCRUM/Agile development methodology.* *- Proven quality focus in providing customer driven-services and solutions.* *- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.* *- Ability to learn new technologies quickly.* *- Demonstrated ability to work well in a cross-functional team environment.* *- Strong spoken and written communication skills and a proven ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization.* *Requirements*: *A university degree (Bachelor's degree or equivalent) in Computer Science, or Business or equivalent experience is required.
