*Datastage DeveloperLocation: Minneapolis, MN* *Duration: 6+* *Interview mode: phone then Skype* *What are the top 5-10 responsibilities for this position?* - Interact with off shore development team and ensure that off-shore delivers on commitments. - Review the work of other developers to ensure adherence to best practices, optimization and scalability of various capabilities. - Work with Business teams to gather requirements, document them and build ETL code that meets the requirements. - Produce, review and maintain technical project artifacts with various leadership teams in multiple forums. - Independent Contributor, candidate is expected to be productive from the first day of second week. Develop ETL code meeting 100 percent of technical specifications and business requirements according to the established designs. *What skills/attributes are a must have?* 6*+ years experience working in a high volume DataStage 8.5 environment including handling XML files.* *Vast experience troubleshooting performance issues, SQL tuning is a must.* Strong hands on deep pocket experience with PERL, Unix Shell scripting and crontab. Hands on experience with Data Scrubbing is a must. Strong experience creating highly complex shell scripts, process automation, metrics reporting and data manipulation is a must. Candidates who have no hands on shell scripting experience will not be considered. *4+ years of hands on experience with Teradata is a must.* *Strong experience with Mainframe DB2 Data Base, Hyper-Unload Utilities, and JCL.* *Strong experience with converting data sets from EBCDIC to ASCII.* *Strong experience working with multiple file formats including data handling from tape archives, archived data sets on Tar, PKZip, GunZip is a must.* Experience manipulating UTF-8 character set, line feeds through shell scripting is a must. Strong hands on experience on automation tool Tivoli Workload Scheduler. Strong Data Analysis and Data Profiling experience. Strong experience using SFTP, exchanging SSH keys, PKP encryption/decryption *What skills/attributes are nice to have?* *4+ years of experience in applications systems analysis and/or development.* Strong experience creating High Level Design, Low Level Design, Data Flow diagrams, Process Flow Diagrams is a must. Expect a constant interaction with offshore development team, provide technical guidance and review offshore work on a day to day basis. *4+ years experience with high level technical phases of applications systems analysis and programming activities* Thorough understanding of technological infrastructure and how it relates to projects is a plus *4+ years experience with Oracle, SQL Server in Unix environment.* *4+ years experience with MS Office (Outlook, Excel and Word)* Experience with any SSH client.
