*WebSphere Commerce DeveloperLocation: New York City, NY.Duration: 6+ month on-site contract plus extension* *Interview mode: Phone than Skype.Job Description:*-looking for someone more senior *5-7 years experience* -Java is a plus and someone who knows there way around the database -Understands how the front end works -They are working off Ecommerce version 7, but will take a really good developer that works off Ecommerce 6. *POSITION OBJECTIVE:* The WebSphere Commerce Developer is responsible for the operation of the Unix/Linux based IBM WebSphere/WebSphere Commerce/JBOSS environment as well as the relationship with vendors and users who provide input and support this environment. The role ensures the day-to-day operations of the environment architecture and operation for the eCommerce websites, eBooks services, manage technical administration including installation, configuration, administration, monitoring, capacity planning, operational services and integration of enhancements and development efforts that pertain to the environment. *GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:* l Perform functions and tasks associated with the design, development, and operation of WebSphere Commerce Server systems environment. l Expert support of WebSphere Commerce Server in a Unix/Linux (IBM AIX/Red Hat Linux) computing environment. l Support of RedHat JBOSS in a RedHat Linux computing environment. l UNIX/Linux admin background desirable including OS and application software installations and upgrades, backup and recovery administration, and troubleshooting system and application issues. l Architect, research and make recommendations for WebSphere Commerce Server configurations. l Experience with LDAP highly desirable. l Provide technical input to assist in development of project planning. l Provide support and develop Shell scripting (perl, ksh, bash) system administration utilities l Work with a team of other administrators, including system administrators, database administrators, network administrators and fellow middleware administrators. l Work with the PMO to help draft and execute eCommerce-related invest and enhancement projects. *QualificationsPOSITION REQUIREMENTS* l *3 years’ experience managing WebSphere Commerce Server (WCS) on AIX or Linux in a production eCommerce retail environment. AIX preferred*. DB2 UDB back-end database configuration support preferred. l 5 years’ experience managing WebSphere Application Server (WAS) on AIX or Linux in a production data center environment. AIX preferred. l 3 years’ experience managing RedHat JBOSS in a production data center environment highly desirable. l 7 years’ experience on AIX or similar UNIX. Linux experience highly desirable as well. l Strong experience with security administration, server performance monitoring and tuning. l Strong experience with configuring middleware systems (WAS, JBOSS) in a highly available and resilient configuration. l Demonstrable knowledge of UNIX operating system basics (disk, cpu, io subsystems) l Demonstrable knowledge of IBM hardware, specifically pSeries, xSeries and BladeCenters desirable. l Experience with Sun Java Directory Server > v5.3 or RedHat Directory Server desirable. l Unix Shell scripting experience is a must (bash, ksh, or perl) l Strong troubleshooting skills l Ability to communicate technical issues with non-technical people l Must be able to work some overtime and provide after-hours support as needed.
