Position: QA Automation Specialist Location:Broomfield, CO Duration: 12 Months Rate: 34/hr on 1099 or c2c max *MUST HAVE:We need someone who demonstrated proficiency using UNIX/Linux for basic shell & file manipulation and Knowledge of Rally, Jira, VersionOne or other similar ALM tool.* Job Responsibilities: Seeking a senior level self-driven "go-getter" that is highly analytical and motivated to inject quality into overall SDLC and provide test coverage of several different applications and projects while working side-by-side with fast-paced engineering teams. Will work to understand product requirements and to create and maintain existing functional test suites, as well as work with automation team, other QA members, and development to learn/create/maintain automation where possible. Responsible for development and execution of methods and processes to ensure continuous improvement to software quality assurance standards, ensure proper operation and business value, and pro-actively thwart customer found defects. Communicates, documents, and reports progress, test results, and other relevant information on problem resolution to project stakeholders and management. Essential Duties • Designs, develops, prioritizes, and implements cost-effective methods of strategy around testing and troubleshooting systems to continuously improve software quality within fast-paced and dynamic Agile Scrum Teams • Ambitiously works within cross-functional teams to uncover hidden requirements and identify upstream and downstream dependencies across functional areas for new & existing applications, products and/or their enhancements through their development lifecycles • Coordinates with other QA members and teams to ensure end-to-end test planning and test execution • Pro-actively ensures that testing activities allow applications to meet business requirements and systems goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identifies existing or potential issues • Test any new software to ensure integration into company systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, and technical specifications • Provides Coaching and Training to Scrum Teams regarding SQA practices • Ability to work as part of a self-directed team, in which you determine your tasks on a daily basis in coordination with co-workers, rather than waiting for work to be assigned to you • Identifies key Quality metrics within area of expertise • Assists in the development of change control processes, practices, and guidelines for new and existing technologies • Participates in developing, distributing, and coordinating in-depth end-user reviews for modified and new systems or applications • Makes recommendations for improvement of applications to software developers, software architects, and product owners • Cultivate and disseminate knowledge of quality assurance best practices Education, Experience, & Technical Skills • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology field • Minimum of 5+ yrs. experience in the software quality assurance industry, with strong preference in an Agile environment • Working experience with one or more database technologies and knowledge of RDBMS and SQL concepts • Demonstrated proficiency using UNIX/Linux for basic shell & file manipulation • Creative with test plan design and error troubleshooting • Knowledge of Rally, Jira, VersionOne or other similar ALM tool • Experience testing APIs & Services BONUS! • Works to introduce automation where needed and where possible • Hands on experience with open-source test automation platforms (FitNesse, REST fixture, and Selenium) or HP Automation Tools • Ability to aid in load and performance tests utilizing tools/frameworks such as Grinder, LoadRunner, etc. • Source control systems, such as Git & Build automation platforms, such as Jenkins • Experience with scripting languages, and/or commercial test tool scripting languages, and/or programming in any language is a big plus! .
