Title: Hadoop Architect posted on 2014-09-05 14:07:25 Job Description: *Job Title: Hadoop Architect* *Location: New York City* *Duration: 6-12 month+* *Job Description:* *Must be certified or willing to get certified this week in Hortonworks Hadoop* Seeking an experienced *Hadoop Infrastructure Architect* to join the team in New York City covering our Northeast Region. For this strategically important role, we are seeking outstanding talent to join our team. *Responsibilities:* • Work closely with customers’ operations and technical teams to collect requirements and devise and recommend Hadoop platform architecture solutions • Analyze complex distributed production deployments, and make recommendations to optimize performance • Document and present complex architectures for the customers technical teams • Work closely with Hortonworks’ teams at all levels to help ensure the success of project consulting engagements with customer • Help design and implement Hadoop architectures and configurations for customer • Drive projects with customers to successful completion • Research Hadoop cluster installation strategies on a variety of platforms and platform configurations • Research and plan Hadoop migration strategies from various distributions to Hortonworks Data Platform (HDP) on a variety of platforms. • Drive continuous improvement infrastructure through the organization to ensure optimal operations, performance and stability of services • Provide expert support for analyzing platform-level configuration and performance issues • Keep current with the Hadoop Big Data ecosystem technologies • Conduct technical workshops with customers • Attend speaking engagements when needed • Travel up to 75% *Qualifications:* • More than five years of Professional Services (customer facing) experience architecting large scale storage, data center and /or globally distributed solutions 2+ years designing and deploying 3 tier architectures or large-scale Hadoop solutions • Ability to understand and translate customer requirements into technical requirements • Detailed knowledge on Hadoop cluster administration • Hands-on Experience installing and troubleshooting multi-node Hadoop clusters • Strong experience implementing software and/or solutions in the enterprise Linux or Unix environment • Detailed experience with Linux scripting, file systems and networking. • Strong understanding with various enterprise security solutions such as LDAP and/or Kerberos • Strong understanding of network configuration, devices, protocols, speeds and optimizations • Familiarity with scripting tools such as bash shell scripts, Python and/or Perl • Solid background in Database administration or design • Detailed Experience with systems monitoring techniques such as Nagios and Ganglia • Excellent verbal and written communications Experience in architecting data center solutions – properly selecting server and storage hardware based on performance, availability and ROI requirements *Nice, but not required experience:* • Hands on experience with configuration management tools such as Chef and Puppet • Detailed knowledge on the installation and configuration of MIT Kerberos on a variety of platforms • Detailed knowledge on the installation, configuration and interfacing with a variety of LDAP solutions • Working experience with OAuth, LDAP, ActiveDirectory, REST, JSON and XML • Experience with other open source monitoring technologies such as Graphite and Zabbix Job Requirements: *hadoop architect, linux/unix, ldap/kerberos, python/perl, Nagios, Ganglia, ActiveDirectory, REST, JSON, XML, OAuth,* *Click here to view full job description and apply <http://ejobsville.com/display-job/237823> (Registration not mandatory to apply for this job)* ------------------------------ Best regards, eJobsVille.com - For The Best Tech Jobs In Town -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Open Source Erp & Crm" group.
