*Interview mode: Phone then F2F.Job Description:*Seeking candidates skilled in Oracle, MSSQL, et al database administration, Installation, configuration and proactive maintenance and monitoring of database systems as well as database server and storage resources. The Oracle DBA will be responsible for database administration in a multi-platform mission critical, 24x7 environment. They will participate in installation, the ongoing operations and maintenance of database systems as well as enterprise or department projects by assisting in the development of project plans, documentation, database system architecture design, best practice determination and performing of project tasks. Also, they will also participate in a rotating, after hour’s on-call schedule. *Requirements:* •Minimum 6+ years of Oracle database experience, to include some experience with advanced Enterprise Edition options (OEM, Streams, Grid/RAC, Data Guard, OLAP, Partitioning, etc.). *Experience in all facets of hands-on production database administration including:* •New installations of Oracle software (esp. EE database). •OFA or accepted industry best configuration practices. •Upgrade and patch numerous Oracle Databases. •Data conversions/migrations. •Database security, monitoring, capacity planning, and performance tuning. •Backup and recovery management. •Writing PL/SQL scripts. •Database management automation. •Experience with Linux and Unix operating systems and shell scripting. •Experience with Storage Area Networks and disk array configurations. •Experience with Disaster Recovery/Business Continuance planning and testing. *Required Soft Skill Experience:* •Fits the principals of cooperation, collaboration, safety first, employee dedication, reliability, outstanding service and exceeding customer expectations •Team oriented performer, focused on the tasks and goals of the organization •Experience with project management principals •Work within the confines of a Change Control environment •Motivated self-starter with attention to detail •Experience mentoring/leading junior DBA’s •Excellent interpersonal and communication skills •Excellent organizational skills *Preferred Hard Skill Experience:* •Application development experience using various languages. •Experience with Windows Server family. •Experience with VMware ESX environments. •Experience with other database systems (SQL Server, MySQL, DB2, Sybase, etc.). •Experience translating logical data models into physical database schemas. *Primary Responsibilities:* •Perform and/or supervise common database administration tasks; including tuning, backup, recovery, data migration, etc. •Develop standards regarding the appropriate design, security, and implementation of commonly used features for the major databases (Oracle, Sybase, SQL Server, etc.). •Conduct meetings/training for developers and other team members on company data standards and appropriate use of the tools associated with each database. •Develop tools and utilities to simplify/automate the management of databases as it pertains to a particular application. •Identify database requirements and assist IT Database Manager in setting database systems vision. *Additional Responsibilities:* •Analyzing technical challenges and developing potential resolutions correctly. •Producing and adhering to quality, thorough project plans, and recommending plan changes as needed. •Providing guidance, mentoring, review, and deployment support for data modeling and business application design. •Remaining up to date on changes in system software and hardware requirements. •Working with and may lead, on occasion, the IT Enterprise Database Team as well as other IT teams on specific projects..
