This role takes direction from architects and Sr. Programmers to develop software and support existing software. 45% - Develop n-tier and client / server applications using expertise principally in Visual Basic 6, VB.NET <http://vb.net/>, & C#.NET. 40% - Making small functional enhancements to current applications as needed for the business. 5% - Working with others in the support department to learn systems, infrastructure environment, coding techniques, and other technical subjects. 5% - Working with others in the development and support departments to learn systems, infrastructure environment, coding techniques, and other technical subjects. 5% - Establish relationships with business partners and development team members to develop a good understanding of the business areas and manufacturing processes Job Requirements: *Required Skills:* Bachelors degree in Computer Science or I/T related program, OR a minimum of a high school diploma/GED and a minimum of 4 years application development /or support using object-oriented programming language like Microsoft .NET (or equivalent). Familiarity with programming languages required for development like VB6 and C#.NET Familiarity with Object Oriented concepts Can develop code in languages required from scratch with some guidance Can create design for software requirements basis process requirements from scratch and identify and correct design flaws Familiarity with Service Oriented Architecture design concepts Has a working knowledge of SQL and can get data in and out of a relational database in an efficient/appropriate manner. Can support stored code (i.e. procedures, triggers). Has good knowledge on how to set up PC’s, Scan Guns, and Barcode printers Basic understanding of TCP/IP network communications and routing. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
