*Position: **iSeries **AS400 RPG Programmer*
* Location: NYC, NY. Duration: 6+ Month On-Site contract plus extension * *Interview mode: Phone than Skype. Job Description: *The RPG programmer analyst works on an AS/400 insurance system. This role will be responsible for developing and supporting a proprietary insurance system which executes on an *iSeries (AS400)* platform. Responsibilities span the analysis, design, development , documentation , testing and implementation phases and include gathering requirements, application design of application and interface with technical assistance during implementation. This position is also responsible for handling documentation of current system, daily trouble shooting and modifications of the application. *Required Skills* •BS degree in Computer Science preferred (or equivalent) or 5 to 7 years of business experience •Strong programming knowledge of *RPG Ill, RPG ILE, RPG IV, CL, DB2, Query, SOL, FTP, IFS and AS400* •Familiarity with insurance administration, claims or accounting systems •Strong PC, MSOffice skills •Excellent interpersonal and perceptive listening skills, with ability to interface effectively with individuals of varying background, levels and technical expertise •Demonstrated analytical skills, with ability to define user needs clearly •Excellent written communication skills, along with excellent time management •Provide estimates of work effort and impact of projects and tasks •Ensure database structures follow enterprise standards.
